Who cares like someone's gonna chase you down with a db meter. Louder the better. I prefer the fire engine stutter tone sound for my air horns. The whelen 100w with pa electronic units are convenient since they don't require air though. Plus you get a pa. After you honk at a bad driver then you...
Ive been playing with the bad board I have. A good scraping off of the coating then some light fine wire brushing and a good cleaning with alcohol before soldering is working good. I dont think there are any chemicals that will remove the coating without eating the plastics on the board also.
The first gen and A1 relay scheme is different. You can interchange relays to see if the problem follows though. I would be careful not to pull out a relay and take the socket with it though.
Got gremlins with your A1, with the circuit board style power panel? Intermittent electrical issues? My truck had relay sockets practically falling out. Its hard to tell unless you look carefully from underneath. There are traces on both sides of the board so it should be soldered on top and...
Added led rev light, swapped the little round halogen rear work lights for relocated leds, new led blinker and tails, new H4 conversions with 80/100 watt bulbs. New ctis controller and a new breaker power panel, which cleared up a lot of the little intermittent gremlins the truck had.
9 pin. It will only work on an A1 truck though. I spoke with an A1 truck owner a few months ago who had ordered a overseas cheapie reader and it was not compatible with the truck. I know of a few mil shops that use hand readers. Theirs are a bit more advanced and I had looked into a fancier one...
I bought an OTC 3418 HD reader. It can pull and clear engine codes. Only on A1 trucks, first gen trucks have mechanical engines. Does not seem to do much else though. I had hoped it could do some parameter display but no luck. Quick and convenient though.
2004 does not sound that old but its 12 years. The first 5 tires came off a Bragg truck the one that was a spare was from a colder climate. I wonder if the colder weather over time causes faster rubber deterioration.
I looked at the tire on the outside it looked ok I didnt see any cracking or dry rotting. Since its an 800 tractor I cant see him driving that fast on it. Maybe just a fluke who knows but I have seen more Michelins blown out like the picture than goodyears.
I had a buddy who needed singles for his 800 tractor. The lmtv wheels bolt up nice. I gave him the 5 Michelins that came on the 1078 that I drive. I had driven it for a while on these tires and the tread was around 30% but they were still good tires. I think they were around 10 years old but not...
There was a post somewhere one of the regular lmtv posters went on a road trip I think he said 4000 miles and I believe he pretty much went thru a set of tires. That being said, highway miles are
hard on these tires especially on these trucks.
