    Adding a pony motor to a M936

There was a 125(10 ton) with a 816 bed that had a pony motor mounted behind the operator basket to run the hyds., So if that worked, I do not see why your idea will not work. How far are you from Gainesville ??

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

The reason I say this would be a ridged tow is this, 1--the wiffletree can not pivot side to side as it lifts the vehicle. 2--the TB legs need to be pinned to do the pull and for brakeing . 3--the pinned legs are pinned to the wiffletree which can not pivot and is pinned to the rear of the...

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

This would make a ridged tow, there would be no pivot, the tb legs would form a ridged A off the wiffletree then the wiffletree mount to the vehicle being lift towed would not be a pivot, the lift tow could be done but would put a lot of strain on the lifting/towing rigging.

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

Update on this idea, scraped the hyd. winch thought (not enough control), I have worked out how to mount and drive a 39/809 series front winch LOW in front of the fifth wheel, will use a power divider with a devoiced pump, the cable will run between the fifth wheel and the frame, exiting at the...

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

Instead of that what about mounting a pental hitch there, that way the pull and the hoist pivot points are the SAME. (REVERSEING THE TB END FOR END)

    Wrecker bed modification

Well I went and taped the 819 cable, man do I like running this truck, 1--with full boom, max. boom hoist and just before 2 block, there is 24' to the ground from the hook, with the hook all the way down it is about 6" above the ground, this is with a empty drum (no wraps on drum), and a 3 part...

    Wrecker spring locks

Sorry, was thinking about our wreckers, yes and no, on trucks without a walking beam, a block goes between the axle and frame, on a walking beam truck, the walking beam becomes a hard mount there, in both this moves the pivot point back from the trunnion, which in by doing so gives more counter...

    Wrecker spring locks

A old wrecker trick was to use DRIED OAK wedges in the rear spring pockets, this took the movement out and loaded the rear axle to move the trucks pivot point back, allowing more of a lift off the rear. When not needed, the wedges were stored on the deck.

    wrecker rope

1"would be over kill, a no load of just pulling the rear cable out, you could use 5/8" good rope just fine, would be more then enough.

    Wrecker bed modification

I will tape the drum tomorrow, also will tape a m62 drum as well. My drum only has a single layer, I will also check the clearance. I have 26' of boom, I will tape the fall from boom tip to ground with full boom, full boom up.

    Wrecker bed modification

Yes, I can touch the ground plus about a foot or so when I am fully extended, all the way boomed up, and rigged for 3 part.. The m819 has 1 layer, more then one layer may cause reeving problems if you were not careful, it could be done, just have to watch it, the ONLY size cable you can use...

M818 keeps cutting off..... knocking bad.

This is because you ARE still sucking air, also what is the fuel filter like, is the flat washer on top of the filter in the recess and flat, if not the top o-ring will not seal.

    Wrecker Oil Can Bracket

The BII for the m818, m819 do not call for spades, with that being said, I am mounting my spades on each side on the top rail of the bed with a U-bracket, post and strap, this way one person if need be can get them down and back up, If you have ever tried to get spades down to use then and then...

M818 keeps cutting off..... knocking bad.

BYPASS the selector valve, it is known for bad O-rings and the lines from it to are bad for cracks that suck air, run a NEW hose, the truck will not start because your system is FULL of air. Why do you NOT use the left tank ???

Help me figure out what this trailer is

This type of trailer would carry the pole and the transformer, ect., more of a replace of a pole rather then a major project.
