MKT Experts tell me what you see!

Or at least the cooks get warm air blowing on their feet while standing on an aluminum floor with no insulation below it. There is a 'skirt' that goes around the entire lower part of the MKT (it attaches to the wall sections on its top, right at the floor line) which cuts the draft from the...

MKT Experts tell me what you see!

Post #8, second picture shows the heater outlet square tube vent apparatus, the ice box divider is another plus, and there should be a plastic grating in the bottom so stuff down there does not get any water built up around it. That type of box was meant as an old time ice box/refrigerator with...

    Mkt pick-up hints

How fast were you going? When I pulled mine home from Ft. Pickett I had the old nylon carry covers, but it survived the journey with no problems. Maybe because I did the 325 mile trip in a deuce and never saw the double nickles on the speedometer.

Has anyone built a big slide-in "truck" camper for a M35 Deuce?

I know someone who might sell a dropside bed, so get whatever type deuce you can and worry about the details once you get the basics working.

    Most valuable CUCV paint scheme?

Look at the BEHR Paint threads. They lay out exactly how to get Federal Supply Standard 383 green mixed for you, and the cost is less than $30 per gallon.

    Greetings from NC

Plan on driving up to the VA Rally over Labor Day weekend, then heading south for the GA Rally on Oct 8-12. You will probably find what you 'need' at one of them!

Passed the ARRL Technician and General Exams today!

Tactical vehicles used to be equipped with radios in the 30-75 Mhz range, which means the six meter band for Amateur Radio. That would mean an RT-524, or the equivalent (PRC-25 or -77 with the AM-2060 base), plus some others in the VRC-12 family.

    Kitchen Trailers MKT-90

couple of years ago, there were almost 125 MKT's auctioned off at the same time and location. The catch, they were all pretty well stripped, no cabinets, no roof, no outside decking, etc. The Army has three levels of field kitchens: the Company Level (KCLFF)for up to 125-150 people, the MKT...

master cylinder replacement Deuce Do I need gaskets?

I replaced the MC on one of my deuces and never used the first gasket. Did use a lot of NSFWE words and questioned the parentage of the designer/engineer on the placement of said MC. Just a hint, to get to the lower outside bolt that holds the MC in place (other three are only slightly more...

M561 Abany NY to Charlotte NC

Charlotte, NC is not anywhere close to the ocean. You'd have a better chance of loading it onto an ocean going ship in Albany, NY than in Charlotte. NYC and Buffalo would be alternative (and larger) ports for ocean shipping (Buffalo via the St. Lawrence Seaway). Charlotte is still 200 miles...

If you download much, you'll have to be a member of that site as I recall. I have it bookmarked from a couple of years ago.

    Kitchen Trailers MKT-90

If the MKT is balanced, two people can lift the lunette and put it on a pintle. It needs to be slightly nose heavy to make sure weight remains on the pintle. If you have everything in it, you are looking at a total of 5700 pounds, not something a 3/4 ton truck should be pulling (or trying to...

    My new to me MKT-75A

And the burners are the latest V3 type (wider range of heat output, from 11000 BTU/hr up to 60500 BTU/hr vs 20000 to 55000 BTU/hr on the older models).

    Zout's Cookout

Awake, but stuffing our mouths, and the speakers were not hooked up properly so the only audio was from the built in speakers, which are fine if one is in a quiet room, but less than ideal outside with dozens of people milling about. then the phone phone we were using as the connection had a...

    Expectations of M35

If it's going to be a farm truck, you might look at the 5 ton series - Uncle is still getting rid of them. They will haul twice the weight and some of the 900 series (but just a few models) will do highway speeds.
