Since you have the FSS number, go to Home Depot and have them mix some up for you. They first have to select (on their paint mixing computer) Competitive paints, then scroll down to FSS (Federal Supply Service), select it and then put the number in the lower of the two boxes. Next is selecting...
Get a 12 inch rise hitch plate and a pintle hitch and it should ride level. With one of these setups I've pulled a generator trailer with two MEP002A's on it with no problems. I did take it easy, and planned for stops, including ones for the boneheads I was sure were planning/did cut in front...
A fully equipped MKT weighs 5700 pounds. WM has not had that MKT for over five years, we use mine at the GA Rally. If you can get the pintle high enough to keep the trailer (a modified M103/M105) level, towing it will be a little strain, but stopping will have a very high pucker factor.
under the front of the bed is a popular spot, going from side to side. There's a gap that's good for storage, just have to fabricate something to keep it from sliding out.
Actually, the CARB requirement became federal law a couple of years ago (Thanks Kalifornia), so people are now selling them as 'ornaments' to get around the krazy KARB (usually by putting some small print to the effect 'not for fuel use'). YMMV.
David Doyle's book on US Military Vehicles would be your best bet. Have you asked the curators at the Military Museum in Warszawa if they have one or some information? What city in Polska are you in? I have friends in Poznan, Warszawa, Ostrowiec Sw., and Krakow.
Dead batteries are a waste of time and money, and all the old (or new old stock) batteries are dead, or will be within five seconds after turning the power on to the radio. Purchase the battery adapter from Brooke (see link above) and use "D" cells. Faster, easier, and "D" cells are a lot...
brianp454, add the transmission and transfer case vents while you are at it. As for the brakes, get a remote reservoir kit that mounts behind the driver's seat. Lots easier to check, and it would be even higher than one in the engine compartment.
Brandon is about the closest, but I don't know if he'll be able to make it up north to either of the shows. Maybe we could get it shuffled to Cabell who does not like missing Aberdeen.
Actually, most of them are saved in your 'cache', no matter what OS you are running. On a windows machine, I registered a product called Compupic, from photodex.com (many years ago), because it will show all folders in it's 'tree' view and allow you to open them and extract pictures and move...
What loads will you be running? Under 1000 pounds in the bed, 1-2 tons in the bed, 4-5 tons in the bed? How much of a load will dictate how much air goes in the tires for optimal life. And it changes, depending on the load and the surface you are driving on. Thus, there is no one answer that...
Member ATPTac just bought a new-to-him deuce this afternoon here in Lexington. Hopefully he'll be home in about an hour or so and will post more info. But in the meantime, for all the picture junkies, here he and his family are on the Wally World parking lot on the way home.
