For a start look at all of your primary power and grounds on the truck. Check for corrosion or abrasion there. Just start chasing wires is the best I could tell you. A toner is your best friend.
Not sure why you would say that. The old notion of 3d printing not being strong is long past. For this application using abs will make a stronger part than stock. Just the knob is what I’m taking about. Even the arm I could print but definitely better to machine.

Again the threaded housing doesn’t really mean anything. It’s simply the BIOS on the ecm that is configured for a certain type of truck. If the ecm isn’t the compatible part numbers and you can’t get it to flash let me know and I can bench flash a known c7 ecm

The ecm will need to be reflashed at a minimum. There is a possibility that it is compatible with the C7 but some ecms are not compatible with other engines. Example most of the C7 ecms but not all are not flash compatible with the C12 in the mtvr but the majority of the 3126b ecms are. It...
Just take the resistor out of the J1939 data bus and watch the truck have a heart attack. Takes all of 10 seconds. For absolute protection put a switch in the J1708 connection between the ecm and the rest of the truck as well. If the switch fails the truck still runs on 1939. If the 1939 is only...
