This happened yesterday. The spindle nut is still locked in place, it hasn't moved at all. Low speeds, nobody hurt.

My truck originally came with doors that had those sliding rv windows. I found them to be absolutely terrible. There was no way to comfortably rest your arm on the sill. And when open, the tint is doubled so you can't really see out of the glass side. Which in mine, blocked the side mirror.

The valve you already mentioned is the only shutoff. You can check to see if it is working correctly when the core is out of the way.
