Each box has to be in a different switch position. [ the one under the black cap ]
It don't sound right if all are in the same position.
The TM says diff. position for each box.
Gaskets don't normally start leaking if not disturbed....check the weep hole ...might need a bright light and mirror.
Its under shaft about 1.5 ".
Pully might be covering it a bit.
The small Vic3 boxes that headsets connect to have a black cover between the lower connectors.
It is a switch inside....cap unscrews and it has 7 or 8 positions.
Each box S/B in a different position from each other.
Last position...all the way to the right is a test position.....don't use that one.
Those boxes have a rubber gasket, and a foam donut at the top to keep out water.
The old school boxes had vent holes and had goop all over electronoics.....those boxes were not real good, and long gone.
If I opened one and gasket was bad...I'd run a bead of sealant around it and put back...
Temp gauge test
Did some testing today.....
Tested 6 gages of each brand : Faria, and Clark. ** most used, some new.}
Also used a used and New Faria sending unit.
From 160 to 200 Clarks read approx. 20 deg. lower, and at 220 and above, about 5 to 15 deg. lower .than Faria.
I'll take two for 2500 each if new or more.
Peoples done it already on here...they may reply.
You'll need eng. harness, body harness, x member, drive shafts, body modified, and other small misl. parts.
The bracket on the motor mount is a must....if its not there, your starter will eventually break bolts and fall off.
There are old thin style, and newer thick style brackets.
