Sure, after the auction has closed. I noticed a bunch of new items went through yesterday and those are all fair game. Just don't talk about any coming up in future auctions.
We're going back to Big Bend in Oct again. The weather was just about perfect (80/45 temp ranges) and it's still outside of the primary Park season. The primitive trails were empty except for a couple of street bikes and there are tons of back country campsites sitting empty.
Any way to rig up a bumper on the trailer? If you were able to do that then put a swing out tire carrier on it.
I'm sure the JK could handle the 1102 by itself but add the weight and the wind sail properties of the shelter and you'd probably be going pretty slow.
Since you have such a...
Dang it Keith you're always two steps ahead of me. I just started turning my M116A2 into an Overlanding trailer and here you had this all along and I didn't realize it. Then after seeing yours I saw someone else over at Expedition Portal with another one. The only reason I'm using the 116 is I...
The M116 is basically the same trailer as the M101 just with a deck only instead of a full box. With a deck only it would be easier loading compared to a trailer with a full bed.
Welcome from the San Antonio area.
Yeh the M1082 would be illegal in Texas without a much bigger truck and some way to make the brakes work. If you were only hauling 1 a M116A2 generator trailer would work great. You might even be able to build a rack for that with an over/under arrangement.
I have the correct set up using all the correct parts and its less than overwhelming. It will cool the cab down to a point but you've got a lot of area absorbing heat, including whats coming off the engine, and the units are not putting out enough cold air to fully overcome that. You're going...
Its funny but when I was "camping" in Yakima with the Army I hated it. I actually thought about quitting my civilian job when they said they were transferring me there. The 2 years I lived there were actually very enjoyable and I miss the area.
Allan's build is super but I'd be concerned with the center of gravity with something that size. Plus you need a Class A license in TX to run it.
As the M116 is only 3/4 ton doubt I'd find much of an ambulance body that would fit on it.
And, personally, when I go camping, I like "camping" to...

The Patriot Trailers out of Australia are awesome also. The only problem is that both of these run between $20-30k. As much as I would like to have that kind of money sitting around can't say that I do.
Well change of plans. After careful consideration I decided I was probably never going to use the M1082 so therefore wouldn't need the hi/lo shelter. Once I came to that decision I found a good home for the 1082 and bid it farewell. Instead I plan on taking a spare M116 and turning it into an...
Not mine. I've had them off enough times fixing other things so I'm well versed in removal and installation. Unfortunately the broken kneecap will keep me from doing anything for a while.
