I've got a guy that wants to jump 12V civvy vehicles from his M1009. He doesn't want to open the hood to do so. So I'm reinventing the wheel and making a 12V slave port, using an Anderson connector so that it will NOT be compatible with the 24V plugs/receptacles.
Any reason not to just grab...
I meant to win a truckload of safes and only won one small one. It's hardly worth the fuel money to go there to get just one - trip cost > total value of safe.
Anyone close by willing to grab it and hold it until my next trip? I don't expect free. Cheap would be nice.... In exchange for...
We've got a truck(M923A1) that's having trouble maintaining air pressure. It had a couple of constant leaks that we fixed, and several intermittent leaks (heisenbugs).
One of the leaks is the shutterstat. Fan is on. Whistling leak at the external vent port.
While obviously the long term...
On the hmmwv's military standard 2 battery system you connect positive to the positive post on the front battery and negative to the negative post on the rear battery (or frame).
On the military standard 4 battery setup on 939series trucks, connect the positive to the front left positive post...
I'd hook air to it and measure, but I'm unwilling to hack on the special fitting.
How much travel is there from bottomed out to fully inflated?
The manufacturer's site doesn't say.
Also, I've seen a bunch of them in M939series trucks. Anybody have comments on putting one in an M809series...
2" kingpin. 24v lights. Tires look good. Anybody nearby got a M931 or M818?
A buddy won this and it needs to be delivered to my place in KS.
Obviously I don't expect free.
Timeline next couple of weeks.
I saw this mentioned in Slate's breakdown thread. I didn't want to hijack his urgent thread for this nonurgent discussion.
I've had an unloader stick. I blew the moisture out with compressed air and then shot it with WD40. Problem solved. Remains solved some 5 years later with no further...
Will the isuzu engine in the DHS drash trailer physically fit and bolt up to the gen head in the Applied Companies drash-type trailer?
I have one of the Applied Companies trailers with a bad Perkins engine. I found a DHS trailer with an INOP generator.
I'm tempted to grab the INOP genset if I...
I picked one up recently. No oil in the crankcase. I added oil and a new filter. Results-
Oil pressure starts at 25psi and drops to near nothing as soon as the oil starts getting warm.
Bogs down as soon as load applied. Rpm drops and so does voltage and oil pressure.
I'm thinking bearings...
1984 M923 with NH250.
I've seen bunches of them leak fuel here, but I've never had one suck air from this point. Anybody else?
History - I drove this truck from IL to NM a couple years ago without incident. The new owner drove it a little bit, ran it out of fuel, dumped old nasty biodiesel...
Not my truck. I haven't seen it in person and won't for a couple of days.
The guy said he hit a bump and shook everything up and now it acts like it's starving for fuel and won't go over 40.
My thought is throttle cable. I'm trying to get ahead of the curve with any other suggestions anyone...
Sometime in the next few weeks I'll be driving the HMMWV from KS to MO empty. Looking to offset fuel costs with anything I can put in the bed or tow on the pintle (3400lbs).
Sometime between a week or two from now and the end of the summer I'll be driving the XM818 from MO to KS.
Looking to offset fuel costs. Anything I can tow or haul.
Towbars available to tow anything up to another 5ton.
Route will be a straight shot across 36.
I got the truck at auction as a dead truck quite some time ago and towbarred it to KS. I just recently got the time to go through it and make it roadworthy.
Batteries, fluids, and above all brakes. No pedal at all. Right to the floor.
New batteries and a bit of wiring got it running.
Filled...
