There is a retired colonel that runs a trail ride at Hood in Oct each year. I'm not sure what you would have to do the rest of the time but that is at least one option.
Welcome from the San Antonio area! Too bad it's going to be a while until you get your toy. There's a group headed to Big Bend at the end of the month and that'd be a great thing to hit some of the trails with.
Well its kind of working on the truck (it was work any way). I sold all of my Michelin tires to Fuzzytoaster and loaded them up today to head to his place on Wed. There's no way I could have man handled them by myself so I just rolled them to the back of the trailer, laid them over, then used my...
Actually they WON'T refund the taxes unless you PAY someone else to recover the vehicle for you. I just spent 6 months going through this crap over $200. It would have cost me almost 10x that amount to have a shipping company recover my vehicle. So now, if I buy something in the future, I'll...
Depends on how original you want to be. I do a lot of shows and living history events so I like mine to be as close to "in service" as possible. Other people are "pimp my ride" so do what works to get the job done. You'll find a wide spectrum of folks on here from the "don't change a thing"...
That would be very fortuitous if it were a complete set. However, if it's from the older style all you'll have are the horizontal pieces and still need to find the uprights.
There are also 2 different types of "bows" an older style (like in Gimpy's picture) where the uprights are 1 solid piece of pipe and a newer style where the uprights can be disassembled into multiple pieces. If you can, you want to get the newer style. It's much easier to put together, take...
I added the new cross plates to the canopy frame this afternoon. It was a fairly easy job but required rolling the cargo cover all the way to the front (which meant loosening all the super rope and unsnapping all the interior hold downs). After that it was just a matter of unhooking each of...
Got the last of the prep items for cooking today at Bass Pro Shop. This is a "camp fire grille" but is just about the right height for putting over the MBU. I'm going to have to put some 4x4s under the legs as right now it sits on the burner and I'd like it to be up a couple of inches so I...
Ditto on the relays/circuit breakers. Mine (#63 I believe) would start working if you wiggled it but then stop the next time the truck was shut off. I replaced it with a standard 25amp fuse and haven't had any problems since.
Got some more goodies for the truck today. Number 1 was a replacement CTIS controller. This immediatly fixed my problem of 5 solid CTIS lights. Everything is now cycling the way it's supposed to.
Next was a couple of items for the cargo cover. I have the new style bows and there is no real...
Thanks for the suggestion Red. We're going to take the M1009 on a couple of the trails first to make sure there's clearance for the LMTV. Height clearance with some of the rock outcroppings are my biggest concern.
You also have people in the area with stupid amounts of Microsoft and Amazon money (not that I wouldn't like to have that problem). They can afford to pay more.
There were also ones showing up in Iowa a few months back bringing those amounts. They wound up being relisted multiple times. Just...
