I use a crows foot socket and about a 3' extension and go in throught he top.
On another note if you ever part with your top and windshield I want it.
It is perfect for what I am doing.
I thoughty about putting my generator there but I never could get over the idea that my generator would be the very first thing to take a bath when it gets wet/muddy.
I don't have a overheat problem i have an underheat problem 180* with a rad block in 60*weather so i can use the extra hp and possibly keep heat in the engine without pulling the fan entirely. i would love a fan clutck but it won't fit.
I am digging this tread up to see how it turned out.
I am also interested in the flexalite fans because I can't move the rad FWD (I am trying to stuff an intercooler there). and I dont want to futz around with building a totaly new grill that is pushed out 3 inches.
I am hoping to find out...
AHHH makes more sense now.
I would whack the linkage then on the pedal side and make the remaing stub a mount for a CNC style slave. You should be able to adapt it to your current peddal assy.
I use those slaves for lots of different style clutches.
Is your clutch really that hard to push?
Has the cross shaft been greased this milenia?
Mine is softer than my 2002 Dodge cummins with a hydraulic clutch.
If I had to do it I would buy a slave from CNC or any others that have the pedal and hyd res all in one like the VW/sand rail comunity...
The switch is about $40 from most of the surplus MV outfits
Off the top of my head I know that:
Idaho motor pool, Boyce Equipment , Memphis Equipment and Eatern surplus have them in stock.
That is off the top of my head Epay and most MV places have the switch it was used on a whole mess of...
Here is another way to heat the fuel or augment a heat exchanger system
The 24 Volt stock tank heater fits in a 1"NPT hole
I am using these with the 34* thermostat for my black and grey water tanks so I can go play in real cold weather with out having to dump antifreese down the toilet and...
I have had the exact opposite experience as the OP.
I have recovered from Redstone and FT riley and drove both back to the Seattle area:cookoo:
They needed a few things like jumpstarts and fuel filters bulbs. I changed the oil and all the filters before I went on the long haul seedy hotels...
here is an idea for the gap between the cab and the camper you could mount 2 spares on something similar to the 5 ton rack.
You would still keep the storage below that rack. you then could ditch the spare tire carrier and mount another fuel tank there giving 100 gallons of fuel. and you could...
For the oil leak try adding a few qts of type "F" transmission fluid it has seal conditoners.
It has stopped a few weeping rear main leaks for me in the past and cured completly the 109 we brought back from FT Riley to WA.
When you make it back to Tacoma give me a shout I live in Bremerton.
At the truck shop where I worked as a kid when the impact was stalling out we used to hit the socket with a 5 pound sledge (AKA Thor) after about 3-5 whacks the nuts always zipped off sometimes throwing sparks as then went.
We went with the copper antiseze instead of the molly crap, copper...
