MJT memorial truck show, Oct. 23, 2016 Cape Cod Fairgrounds, Falmouth, MA

Here is a flyer for the upcoming truck show in Falmouth, MA at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds on Oct. 23, 2016. This is a very large show and only in its second year. Supposed to be a military section this year as there was a half dozen or so of us last year. Great benefit show. Hope some of you can...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I believe the A2's don't have the access door as the dipstick is under the hood as stated by Ford Mech.

    The wife bought ANOTHER Jeep

Nice Jeep you have there. I owner a 1971 quite a few years back. Mine had the Jeep 232 ci 6 cylinder with a posi rear end. Made for fun driving in the NJ winters. The first time you drive it watch the right hand turns as it feels real weird and the turn happens real fast. Have fun with it. I...

    M939 Does not Idle

Hey Robinhood, I believe the 3 lines are 2 vent lines, 1 forward and 1 aft, and the fuel pick up line. The only one with the tube is the pick up. Mine has the NHC 250 but I believe the tanks are set up roughly the same. Mine had a problem with maintaining prime when parked and when I removed...

    M939 Does not Idle

Looks like you are new here so welcome to the site from Cape Cod, MA. Check your fuel pick-up tube in the tank. They are known to get loose and suck air at the solder joint at the elbow. Also check the tank vent at the top of the intake stack. Bees/wasps love to build nests in the tube and it...

    Winter & HMMWVs

While I don't have a HMMWV, yet!, my 5 ton with the 14 liter NHC250 has a block heater and I use a heavy duty timer to have the heater come on about 2-3 hours before intended use and she comes to life like it is 70 degrees. Great investment. Makes it much easier on the engine all around.

    Howdy from Tampa, FL!

Welcome from Cape Cod, MA. Good luck with the trailer. They are real heavy duty units. I really like mine. Now that you have caught the green/tan disease you will need an MV truck to pull it with!

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2016 - September VOTE HERE!

My 1984 M923 Here are a few photos of my 1984 M923 that I bought a little over a year ago. The first few are the truck as I first saw her. Having no engine or transmission we towed her to the shop and swapped in a eng/trans from the donor M936 wrecker you see in the photos. Then we put a...

    Oil pressure gauge not working

Could always add a mechanical gauge as well. Great to have a back up that doesn't require power. Just remember to change the 12 volt bulb to 24 volt. It was really bright for a little while.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Forgot to include the filter housing is actually a Mercury marine part but any filter housing will do and you could get one with bigger fittings if you wanted. Mounted the filter on an "L" bracket mounted to the heater core box bracket.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Hey TCD, here is a simple and really pretty crude drawing of the system I installed. The heater hoses are 5/8" and the filter hoses are 3/8". The valves are 1/2" with 5/8" hose nipples on the heater hose and 1/4" with 3/8" hose nipples and the tees are 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/2" Pex reducing "T". These...

Torn passenger axle boot. Need spindle sockets.

If you are just replacing the boot use the zipper boots and you won't need any big tools or even a jack!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

After doing some reading and replacing the leaking heater core anyway I installed a coolant filter with DCA additive. Went pretty well. No leaks. Filter is on a bypass circuit and there is a shutoff on the 5/8" heater hose so in the summer I can shut off the heater circuit and keep the filter...
