I use one of these at work for all my terminal connections for yacht battery cables. A quick whack with a 3 pound hammer and some shrink wrap and they never come apart. Does several different sizes. Not too expensive either. Good luck.
Thanks Patracy for all you do with this site. It has been so helpful to me and made some work I have done on my truck much easier. Thanks for all your work.
Welcome from Cape Cod, MA. One small trailer you said, that's all I need. Next thing you know there are green and tan trucks parked all over the place! Watch out the green disease is pretty contagious!
Welcome to the site. My M923 has the Cummins NHC 250 but mine very rarely goes over 180-190. The fan kicks on and keeps it around 185. Sounds like you have a circulation issue. The tank may look like it is clean but may be mudded up in the block and heater core. Sounds like a flushing is in order.
If you check in the 5 ton and up forum on the main page there is a "sticky" which is the second post down that is a spreadsheet with a lot of the cross references already listed. Many have added to it so it a real good tool for us 5 ton guys. I have used many times.
Here are a few pictures of my truck. When I first saw her she had no engine or transmission and the hood was in the bed. We made a deal with "Vintage Iron" (Matt) and took his engine out of his M936 and put it in mine. I helped him install a Cummins 400 into his truck. I have done a lot of other...
Welcome from Cape Cod. Have done a ton, or 5 tons in reality, of work on my truck with Matt and helped with his engine swap. Great guy to know for help and parts source. There are quite a few of us on or near the Cape. We try to do the local summer truck shows and the NH show. Where in MA are...
I agree. I stopped by Will's shop in CT on my way through to pick up a Robo-tool that was still sealed in its original packaging for a great price. I also recently ordered a shutter stat that was in the same condition as the tool and at a great price. Will definitely order from him again and...
Don't have one but have worked on several boats with the same engines and the voltage cycling may be the glow plugs completing their cycle then shutting off. Just my 2 cents as to what I have seen in similar set ups.
Here are a few pictures from the truck show today. Weather was a little chilly and windy to start but warmed up to upper 50's. Had about 20 MV's including 3 tracked vehicles. Thanks all for coming and Vintage Iron for organizing the MV guys.
Another welcome from Cape Cod. I live right down the road from Elideclan2 and he is right. Lots of us on the Cape. Big truck show tomorrow at the Cape Cod fairgrounds and looks like the MV world is going to have a good turn out. I take my M923 to car shows all the time and may be the only MV...
