Maybe the veggie oil is holding some extra oxygen and helping to cool the charge? I don't know. That's an interesting one in itself. I'm still re-working the flange design to find a better volume and fit the proper sizes still, or close to them. I won't be logging anything until I get it figured...
Where did the term "pioneer rack" come from? Is that an Army thing? In the Marines, we called it Pioneer Gear...
It just sounds strange to me... anyone else???
Uh - I've got a military 24-12 OR 110-24/12 power supply. Military stuff. Nice tank interior lime green... If you need one, let me know. These are so frequent and popular, you can find them almost anywhere.
Althought it's noble to offer one, it is much easier to get one that is already made -...
Umm... you need to get the fat chicks out of it before weighing...
(He'e the ONLY guy we know that joined the "one-ton" club in two hits... Took me 20.... LOL
Yeah to make it a three-poster in a row.. I've thought about it for a few minutes... sounds WAY off. Let me look at the math... well, 487 CI, 2600 rpm, 58°f AIT, 14lbs boost... should be a Temp out TC of 257° f
I've got a thought - your intake probe is way off. Maybe it's too broad using an EGT for the intake temps? Not calibrated to read that low? 145 seems a bit cold.
1100 should be enough to make your turbo and manifold glow... Shouldn't be over 900 in a "good" running condition.
Most especially if you've got the EGT after the turbo, which would be about 1200 to 1300° f on a pre-turbo temp. (HOLY COW, that's got to be the reason everyone is melting the...
Also - if you're going to a Holset, you'll need the TV to T4 flange. That's where the tricky stuff comes in. Too small and you'll have HUGE egt's and surging the wastegate all of the time, and too big... You'll end up with an expensive stock motor.
I was off on the flange size. This is a "TV" flange.
Sorry for the mis-information.
Crane, I'm going to need that in a little while once I get to tuning with the pc and using some logging. Thanks!
Not if you buy it from a wholesaler for $1.00-$1.85 per gal. All you'd need is a hazmat endorsement on your cdl and you're cool to transport it. (I've got mine, so we're set for over here)
I greatly appreciate the offer, however, a lot of design and work has gone into the "kit" and I'm keeping the fab in-house. Hope you understand.
As far as the wastegate, here are some photos (we don't need the adaptor to hold a wastegate since the holset we're using has an internal one)
Those cat turbos are poorly mapped. Watch out. There's a lot of lag in them because they were designed to be operated at WOT most of the time. I know that is a shitty thing to say about them, but I just want to be honest DJ.
The adaptor flange is the hardest part of the build. Not only does it...
