I pulled mine about a mile this past winter with the wifes Suburban... top speed about 30 - turn out of one driveway, and pulled off the side of the road a the other end.

you can plug the fittings too. I have seen some of the 6.2's without coolers in civvy applications. For the short time you will be running it, it wont matter at all.

I think there is 3 temperature switches. One, activates the idiot light, one glow plugs, and one the cold advance - high idle.
Check the TM to confirm, but I believe the drivers front side of the engine (on the head) is the idiot light, drivers back of the head on top - glow plug.

Actually, we had a hard drive failure. Sadly when things like this happen, we are at the mercy of how fast Graham can drive over to the data center and work on it.
Looks like we need to replace a hard drive or 2....
