My upper frame was removable with 2 pins. Well pump connections aside.
I have since sold that setup, and currently have a Fisher Minute Mount on my 1009. Although the 1009 is most likely to be sold soon...
As far as I know... Flash for 64 bit is still beta? This might be causing an issue. I have not had any trouble with the chatbox in linux before. (not using it now though)
From what I can tell (my brother used to own a civvy 6.2 blazer) They are identical to the civvy diesel. The gas versions (some of them) had a lighter suspension.
For all purposes of every day parts (24v starting/charging and glow plugs systems aside) you can use the following:
1009's =...
the 1009 is a standard K5 blazer, with the 6.2 diesel in it. Only difference in terms of drive train really is the transmission. Civilian models had the TH700R4 overdrive vs the Military TH400.

Hey doghead! do a search... this thread already exists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously we did this poll a couple years ago :-) Might be worht digging it up to use...
I will say that I really like having the can mount there. That way I dont have to worry about the can falling over in the back of the 1009 when I go to the gas station with it (granted, I dont haul fuel in any of my vehicles much... I run up with the golf cart when possible!)
Adam, you beat me to the punch :-)
I have avoided using them on anything long term anymore due to water leaking in around them if they are outside. I ended up making my own custom setup for my woodsplitter when I converted to the diesel engine. I thought I had a picture of it... but its among...
well like i said... 'once in a while' sure. Main mode of transportation, I would urge against.
As for the trailer... a 1009 will pull a M101 pretty decent. I would suggest using the 101A2 with surge brakes. You 'might' consider changing your axle gears from 3.08 to 3.73 if you plan to to...
