I had a hard starting truck in 20 degree weather. I tested glow plugs and 3 bad, replaced and 2 days later 5 plugs bad. Changed the 5 plugs and temp sensor wt3000 and plugs are fine for a yr now. My belief is temp sensor was bad and always cycling plugs until they burned up. I 60g plugs and an...
Rick, I use 60g s in the trucks with resistor bypassed only problem that has happened if temp sensor on drivers head fails they will cascade like any other plug. With coupon code at advance they are about 6.50 each. I have sets of 11g and 13g on shelf that were so cheap i couldnt pass up.
Rick, You can toss the spacers and redrill for the 1/2 bolts. If you put the spacers between the cross member and frame it will change the driveline angle so u joints dont bind. Alot of 4x4 lift companys make blocks to do the same thing.
Rick, I thank you for all your help in getting the body out to me. It worked out great and Im happy with the end product! Bailey and I are brainstorming the rebuilding of the 1028 at the V.A. house. I have already became a frequent buyer of Rustfre undercoat. Sir I wish you and yours a happy...
dstang97,It was posted on here by fellow ss for trade or sale. It was built for a fire dept as a rescue body and put on a 1028. I got it and it took a week of scraping and heating to remove the 3m reflective stripes. A bit of body work and I lucked out to have a spare set of taillight harnesses...
My latest mod to one of my trucks to feed my green sickness. This will make the perfect service truck. A few loose ends to clean up before the snow comes then on to another truck that was a former brush truck.
WELCOME, That is how I started with my son 5 yrs ago and many shows and swap meets under our belts. Good clean fun and good people and a sickness! My son is 19 now and drives a M1008 as a daily drive that is one of many we have. You can never replace the good times we had feeding our green appetite!
The through bolts are just 1/4 - 20 and if I get a starter without a stud for the bracket I remove. thread rod in leave a 1 1/4 sticking out, put on lock washer and nut , then bracket , lock washer and nut. works fine!
You dont need to buy a new one. Just cut out and put in a new section of fusible link wire with solderless connectors. I have gen 2 problems where I got no dash light and gen wasn't charging and that link was burned out. You can get a package of link wire in autozone 3ft for 7 bucks and you only...
Like everyone said that shift wont happen because of a few cheap parts, modulator 13.00,vacuum tube 5.00,governor gear 15.00, or miss adjusted vacuum valve.
I had a great time and I know its a long shot. Im looking for the vender that was in the area of A1 TO A10. that was selling rekeyed computer locks. He had some relays that I forget to go back for.
CUCVRUS, Rick change the drivers side. Its 9 bucks su109 that's the one that stopped flicker. When bad it also can leave GPs on and they burn out. I was looking at my log book and it still flickered with the passenger side changed napa #ts7265 39 bucks or gm #10154649 .
