Chisos Basin is at 5400' too so I'm guessing the nights might get a little chilly. No campfires are allowed but charcoal braziers are okay so we can huddle around those and cook smores :) Or I can bring one of my MKT burners. They put out quite a bit of heat.
I've never been there before so not sure what the best location would be but was thinking Chisos Basin would work. They have covered picnic tables and "bear boxes" to store food. The spots look plenty big enough for the larger trucks. I plan on pitching my tent in the back of the LMTV but if...
Nothing to date. I'll give it 30 days and then start climbing the ladder until I get someone that can actually do something instead of just smiling and nodding.
The search function here isn't the greatest but there are far more people that jump on here for "a quick question" that don't bother doing any type of search whether on line or in the TM and just want someone to give them the answer. I'm all for helping folks out but, as you mention, it can be...
The military went to Dot 5 across the board. As long as you flush the system out (use denatured alcohol) you can use Dot 3 just don't mix the 2 together. I bought a NOS master for my Goat and didn't have any problems with it at all.
If you flush the system completely you can switch over to normal brake fluid. It's just bad when mixing the two. But if the system is completely apart, flush with denatured alcohol and buy the cheap stuff.
Center jump seat reinstalled. A little too hot to do much else (100° with 110-115° heat index). I had the truck running with the AC on while I was putting the seat back in. The temps are supposed to drop down to the upper 80s on Sunday so I might get something else done next week.
Did yours just get hot or did it stop working? Mine would completely shut down after just a few minutes and I'd have to unplug it, leave it for a couple of hours, try again and have it do the same thing. It can't bring anything back if it won't stay on. I've used it quite a bit the last 8...
I just had to send my NOCO Genius 7200 in for warranty work. It was constantly overheating. It's still under the 24 month portion of the warranty (sliding warranty up to 60 month but prorated after 24) so no charge for them to fix, if they can. We'll see how long the turn around is and...
Will those axles in Brenham have what you need? Better hurry. When I was up there they were talking about pulling the pumpkins and hacking the rest up.
Congrats on the new truck! While the M920 might not be ready for the Big Bend Get Together you're more than welcome to bring one of your other toys or just show up in a civi vehicle and ride with someone else
Looks great Keith! I'm not nearly that ambitious. I think I'm done with mine, other than finalizing where to mount the back up cam, for the foreseeable future. I'm going to spend between now and next spring enjoying the fun of driving it. I may break down and repaint next year but haven't...
I saw a camo M1078 heading north on Hwy 281 near Bulverde today. We see a lot of these going from Ft Sam or Camp Bullis to Ft Hood but this one was driven by a civilian. If I didn't have an appointment in the other direction I would have chased him down. Just wondering if anyone knew who it was...
