When sanding the cab-doors in order to spray them with new paint, I uncovered under many layers of paint a large tactical sign. It looks like an "A" without the horizontal bar and is quite large, actually its almost as high as the door itself. I've seen this before, but could not figure out...
I understand that the sprag t-case has to be "prepared" for reverse into forward operation by shifting rev into the first gear and vice versa, hence the linkage between the transmission and the transfer-case.
But I see that with the airshift-type there is no mechanical linkage between the...
Hi guys,
a friend of mine is trying to figure out if the two types of door-latches on the command-car are early / later style or maybe produced by different suppliers or whatever.
See http://www.command-car.com/technik/techniklatches.html
Does, by any chance, someone know this?
Nice...
as I'm restoring the inside of my deuce's cabin I wonder what these holes right behind the drivers seat are for. I never saw them on other M35A2(c)s before.
Maybe this sheds some light on what sort of m35 this vehicle really is, because it's VIN is not compatible with what it resembles now (...
Hi group,
I'm busting my knuckles to get that $%&%! mbc out. The TM says to remove the break line and the socket, remove the 4 bolts (that devil-third bolt was missing already ;-) ), slide the mbc through the hole in the frame backwards and tilt it downwards and remove it.
So far so good! My...
Hi,
I need to replace the brake line between the mbc and the airpack, and figured, that I could fabricate that by myself, since I have the tools for this task (I used to do that on VW beetles before).
Does anyone know the exact size of the brake line, and is this a special type (metal) or...
When I was out for a field trip yesterday I noticed that after around 12 miles of driving (cold start) the transmission gradually develops a loud whine in the 5th gear, starting at a little under 40mph.
To me it seems like it is linked to warming up of the transmission.
I hear this since I...
A softball, a RBF flag, and a piece of elektrical wire come handy when theres a need to plug the exhaust stack 8)
The RBF flag is a original from the F4-Phantom, by the way.
I got the idea when reading one of the posts here in SS.
Somebody told me on the weekend that it is possible to mount the old Unimog (eg 404s,...) doorhandles to the M35. They seem to fit nicely, look almost the same as the originals and have a key lock!
Anyone tried that before?
Mark
Hey recovery4x4 and other m108 fans,
remember the post:
**********
Hey Mark, was just looking at the frankenstein hood pics and realized that it was leaning on an M108. Can you post some pics of that? Love to see others M108s.

when I picked up my deuce today I took the chance and...
Hi altogether,
"finally" says it all.
I finally bought my own deuce. The first one, otherwise I wouldn't make such a fuzz about it :-) . Took it home today.
4 hours of driving, lots of time of contemplating (was it worth it? Was it worth the money spent? Was it worth the trouble with the...
Hi forum,
a very sad accident happened here on the weekend, which should bring deuce drivers and others to reflect a little on taking along people in the back of the trucks, expecially off the road.
While driving on an offroad-parcour (private property) during an event a 2.5 ton loaded with...
A friend of mine wants to restore a M108 2.5 ton wrecker (he has actually two of them...) and is in search of a technical and operational manual for it.
I had hoped that I could find one in the TM section, but I had not done so. Could someone please point me to the right direction (if there is...
Hi guys,
finally.... after a long time searching it seems like I found a decent deuce which I can buy.
See attached pictures.
I wanted an old style one, and it seems like I got it. Its VIN says 0127-10004. 01 seems OK, an old-timer (hehe, if its a 66 model its my year of birth), but the 27...
Hi,
a friend of mine saw this vehicle and wondered what it was (thank god that there are camera-equipped mobiles...). I tought its a 5 to (airfilter in the left fender, and so on). The rear facing clear lights must be aftermarket-stuff, or has there been a model on which these were fitted...
Hi together,
I think about adding a water- and dirt separating fuelfilter to the deuces fuel-delivery system and came across this product:
http://www.separ.com/separ/about2000.htm
One of the benefits of this system is the good filtergrade ( 2 to 30 microns ) and the claimed unsurpassed...
Hi all,
some interesting pictures here:
http://www.usmvc-koblenz.de/Schmittenhoehe-2007/
Lot of action again this year! Almost unbelievable how the M151 can go through those deep mudholes with 4 persons in it (maybe they acted as "floatation devices ;-) ).
Cheers,
Mark
Hi together,
I want to add a main battery switch as a safety measure and for other reasons.
I found a switch for marine applications with a crude removable plastic-key. The electrical properties of the switch are 100 amps sustained power and 500 amps peak. Would this be sufficient? Any...
