I know this is an old thread, but I have one little tidbit of information to add (since I just accomplished removing the box myself after struggling with it for forever...). I didn't have to mess with motor mounts and such, so this is what worked for me:
1. Remove the bolts on the steering...

I won't mention how long I struggled with the removal because it was an embarrassingly long time, but glad that it's off and can now continue with progress. Also removed the outer frame reinforcing plate to make room for the power steering box...

I got'cha...I can't even afford the plasma table, but I'm certainly jealous! I used to be a machinist for quite a while and had access to a lot of stuff. Now that I'm chained to a desk/cubicle, I still have the access, but absolutely no G-jobs allowed...:(
