I haven't tried it on the deuce, but I used Raptor Liner on the entire interior of my Jeep about 2 years ago. I run topless/doorless about 9 months out of the year, and those that have been to AZ know that the sun KILLS just about everything out here. The liner still looks new. I used black...
That article from 4W&OR talks about the dangers of front lift blocks; mine are in the rear. I would never use blocks in the front of any vehicle. The only negative of having blocks in the rear is the (strong) possibility of wheel hop, and I'll address that when it happens. Also, my blocks...
I'm in the process of getting quotes for the wheel adapter plates and the 8" lift. If I can't get the cost down enough I may just purchase the items from members on this board. I've got access to everything needed to make just about anything, but material costs will make the final make-buy...
Owning a deuce is awesome, but I wouldn't even think of having one as a sole/daily driver; especially as a student. My advice it to buy a reliable, fuel-efficient car or truck of your choice (non-4x4), AND buy a cheap deuce to tinker with however you choose. Unless you're independently...
I mentioned these guys in my build thread, but thought I'd post it here for more exposure. I also believe that they recently joined the forum (vendor?). Anyway, I was needing some tires for my project and found some of their items for sale on eBay and saw that weren't too far from me, so I...
Yep, that's the drawing I was talking about but couldn't find; thanks! After the wallet cools off a bit, I might be in contact with you for some adapters. I have the capability to make my own, but depending on the price of materials and if there's shop time available, I might just be money...
Once again...open mouth = insert foot. Not sure what I was thinking when I said it (and later swore by it...), but you're right; the pilot opening is closer to 11" and some change.
I've got one wheel off the tire for measurement; it's sitting in my garage. Just by looking at the...
Most of the really cool stuff I've made is protected by NDA's :( As for building parts for myself, I've got pics of some of it:
1: 1911 grips out of black acetal
2: milled AK-74 receiver
3: several AR-15 receivers from forgings
4: M1919A4 stuff
5: MANN project before (long story...)
6: MANN...
No, they really do measure ~12.125-12.1875, but I'm sure the 10 hole bolt circle of the wheel is the same even though the pilot diameter is different.

I didn't have as much time to work on this project this weekend as I had hoped, but I was able to make a little progress. I was able to remove the temp. "suspension" and put the leaf pack on (just tacked on in the right position for the time being) with the new blocks/perches, u-bolts and top...
Thanks for the pic 'zilla; I appreciate it! I stopped by today to take a few more pics of the (apparently) MTVR wheels and tires:
In the last pic, I assume this is the date code? If I'm not mistaken, these tires were manufactured in the 51st week of 2009? I'm currently researching to find...
I wish I knew more about this stuff, at least as far as identifying certain things goes. To me, these look just like MRAP wheels that I saw in another post. The wheels are about 35 miles away from my house; if I were to drive there, is the NSN stamped on the wheel somewhere? Or, how can you...
