I'm basically dropping the spring hangers 8" from the frame; I saw another member here (the name escapes me at the moment) who made his own lift and I basically made a copy of his blocks. When I get home this evening, I'll post a link to where I got the inspiration.

Slow and steady...
Didn't have time to get a lot done this weekend, but I did manage to remove all the rivets holding the front suspension on...after about 6 hours of grinding, cutting and hammering. I replaced the rivets with bolts for the time being (it's only being rolled 20' out the door...
Well, if you can find a 2.5T but not the van body, there's a guy local to me that has just the van body (I purchased the truck separately):

Not quite local to you, but close enough to...
Not a lot of progress today, but a little... The lift blocks are finally welded up, the adapter plates were already here, but the 1"-8X2.5" bolts/nuts finally showed up yesterday. These prevailing torque lock nuts are a major PITA to install, so I'm sure they're not coming loose any time soon...
On a side note, 14 kits? HOLY SMOKES that's a lot of liner... That's nearly $1600 without labor! Also, can I get a few more shots of that bobber with the CBC?

As most of you already know, even though most of the work that needs to be done on this project isn't necessarily complicated, it's BIG and generally takes all day to do just about anything. This weekend I was able to flip the rear hubs. Thank Goodness for a sweet air/hydraulic press...
I tried to get alternative fuel plates so I could drive it in the carpool lane, but the guy at the desk wasn't buying it. "But, it's got a multifuel engine!"

I thought about it, but went with historic vehicle tags instead (for my insurance). The examples below were for a M35A2, but they might give you some ideas. I thought about getting one of these:
BIGALOW (deuce bigalow reference)
65DUCE
1BIG6X6

A little update; I picked up the steel for the 8" lift and currently have a local shop (and friend of mine) welding it all up for me. I've got a Miller 180, but I'd feel better with a hotter welder laying beads versus hoping mine is big enough. That, and I'm pretty rusty at welding, and don't...
Awesome pictures and awesome stories; thanks! I for one, would gladly listen to anything you (or any other vet) would like to tell or look at any pictures you may have; MV-related or otherwise. Gotta get all the stories out there before they're gone forever. I've got lots of military pictures...
Looks good to me! Artec makes some pretty righteous stuff too; they're somewhat local to me as well...been thinking of picking up their front/rear truss kits for my Jeep. Hurry up and get this done so I can make up my mind on whether or not I'll run full-hydro or go the power steering...
