Whelp, one of the upsides to the rally was a few of us got to purchase some items from our very own Longhunter7!
I managed to get one of DR's stainless-steel braided teflon air lines from him, and got it installed on Saturday. Lemme just say, these things are [thumbzup] [thumbzup] [thumbzup]...
Like I've said before, if it's within a days drive, I'm there. Haspin was about 300 miles for me - I didn't even have to take any time off from work, I took off Friday afternoon, made it to Haspin friday evening, rode all day saturday and had a liesurly drive back Sunday. Worked out great...
Oy.... cross country in snow on NDTs? Not sure I'd run for that. It'd be fun there, but getting there and back wouldn't be.
I still like the spring idea best. We can avoid the school year, avoid the heat, and april showers bring lotsa mud to play in!!!
Seriously, the rain wasn't always fun...
I know LH7 was interested, so I figured I'd post the photo album of my current ongoing frame-up restoration of a 1967 CJ-5. Still in the tear-down phase right now, but another day or two of good work and I'll be wirebrushing and sandblasting the bare frame.

I think if we head back to that area we found on Saturday when we took the Jeep for a spin we should be fine. It was back far enough that nobody really bothers -they do what we did and stop at the first place they see!
My thoughts exactly. We come armed heavily enough next year, we'll be fine.
We need someone with a ring mount and a ma deuce to show up next year, all we'll have to do is fire up the truck and cruise on over to the troublemakers, if they don't shut up then.....
I certainly wouldn't mind going back to Haspin! I know there are probably more trails we can hit. Maybe we can talk them into letting us use the drag strip, too..... deuce drag races, anyone?
And next year we'll know where the better camping spots are, too.
Thanks guys. You aren't kidding about some of those hills. They were fierce.
I think tonight I should have all of Michelle's and Chris' pictures loaded into my album. When that's done I think I might email the link to the people at Haspin - they have a pictures page and say to email with any...
Ok, tried to make this post earlier, and my connection fouled up, so try, try again.
Anywho, this is for the rally guys in particular. Just thought I'd start a thread with some of the webpages/info that got mentioned over the weekend.
Megasquirt kit built programmable EFI controller...
That, and, "There I was, minding my own business, reading the Bible, and this guy came up and he stabbed me!!!"
If you look at the picture of the Haspin Hilton you can see on the far left corner Chris and Jess' Terror Dome! [^] That tent coulda fit 12 people, it was HUGE.
Gotta make sure to come next year, then!!
Seriously guys, make this trip was worth the time and effort to come to. Hopefully we can get the dates set nice and early for next year, and then plan on taking some vacation time, maybe bring some of the fam and make a camping trip out of it. I know...
Alright, I'm home.
That was a BLAST. Hopefully we can get more out next year, it was serious fun. Like Fred said in the other thread, earlier in the summer would be good - it was pretty dang hot. The mud made things VERY fun, though.
Lots more pictures to follow.

Since I still have to work on Friday (but I am getting out somewhat early) I won't be in until probably 10PM or so Friday. No Deuce this year unfortunately, but I've got no fears taking my DD offroad!
