So, I posted pics of my 5 ton on a local truck club fb page and gave a little history of the truck (that it belonged to a combat support hospital.)
A local man messaged me and asked which unit, so I sent him pics of the front bumper.
He was in that unit with my truck! He just came by and...
Ok- so I swapped to the civvy alternator for my 5 ton that is offered to us by @74M35A2
Installed correctly (I believe) but am having issues.
I made sure when I installed the belt was tight, so that isn't the issue.
With the truck running, I am showing 29vdc from the positive post of the...
All-
I found this for sale and will be picking it up this week:
My question:
Where on a 5 ton would it be mounted? If not on a 5 ton itself, what about on a M105A2?
Thanks!
Question:
I have a local who has 4 Michelin 395/85/20s that are in great shape, about 8 years old and wants 325 a tire for them (wheels are included but I'll be using my stock rims).
The question I have:
Can I run the 4 new tires on the drive wheels and take my two best and put them as steer...

On a whim, I bought an antenna for my M923A2 5 ton, mounted it on the fender and LOVE the way it looks...
However....
Now I feel I need a radio......
Any ideas on what I need and where to start? BTW, please talk to me about these like I have zero idea what you're talking about...
All-
A local man advertised some tires for sale on FB. I drove over to check them out and was going to pull the trigger, but being as I use my 5 ton at highway speeds, the age of the tires gave me anxiety. They range from late 01- late 05
I know you guys are more offroad and low speed, so I...
Or "Adventures with Bertha".
So today I loaded up and went about 150 miles to the "Veterans for Veterans" benefit car show.
Up at 0300 to pretrip the truck... checking the lights, I realize one is "high beam" and one is "low beam". After grumbling and cussing, I open the hood and correct the...
I ran into a Marine buddy of mine at the last car show I went to and he told me he had a fuel can for me... I picked it up and it was rusted pretty badly.
My kid Jak asked if he could do the resto on it and I gladly said yes. I'm all about helping stoke his passion for the hobby...
So...

I was wondering what to do with the M105 I had gotten when I bought the 5 ton.... It sat in my back yard being neglected for about 7 months and I decided to turn it into a mini-camper....
I had started looking for stakes, bows and a cargo cover when I saw this on Eastern Surplus'...
All- I've linked Wes' video in this, but I know sometimes we don't have time to watch a video or we have limited connection, so after rebuilding my PCB today, I decided to put it in thread form:
This is assuming you've diagnosed the problem is your PCB. My symptoms were: No power to the dash...
All- just rebuilt my PCB according to Wes' video, reinstalled and I have the same symptoms. No voltage to dash or starter system.
Batteries are charged.
Where do I start troubleshooting now?
If anyone knows and wants to call, my number is 3183329703.
Thanks in advance

I have a M105 trailer and to move it around with my truck, I bought this:
While it works, the receiver on my pickup (a Ram 1500 Warlock) is really much too low for practical use. I have to pick the trailer up, fold the landing gear then drop it about a foot and a half and rock it...
OK all... revisiting this, as I'm offshore and have time to think about it. (At home I have no less than 10-12 projects going at any time... ) I didn't even have a chance to open the box and look at this, so I messaged my sweet lady and asked her to take pictures for me.....
Ok...
Here's the...
I've seen covers for sale for "ISO bed", have searched the web and the tried the site (the site won't let me because the search term is too short) and all of the results are for the cover for an ISO bed.....
Any help? Just curious.
All,
I am participating in this car show in Shreveport, La on November 6 if anyone would like to join me...
It's to benefit hospitalized vets in the Shreveport area.
The website to register is www.veteransforveterans.com
Here's what happens when a 5 ton and a bus meet...
Before anyone worries.... my cousin asked me to help him move his "camp"...
Never needed to go in low or lock the front wheels in...
All-
Took Bertha to help my cousin move a bus (No big deal, never put her in low and never locked in the front wheels).
ANYWAY....
I shut down to visit and when I got back in to start to build air..... nothing.....
I checked my grounds and battery cables and tightened them all just to...
OK all-
After hand to hand combat on these things, I got them wired correctly and working. I'll post details in another post.
I wired my toggle #3 on my overhead to 24vdc and ran to the relay from there.
Tomorrow is mounting and cleaning up wiring.
