Here's my new gauge installation, just finished today:
The upper panel where the original 24v voltmeter was, is now oil pressure and 12v voltmeter. (Just discovered these gauges need a cleaner voltage supply, since my 12v electric fuel pump is on the same circuit and makes them jump around. A...
I made mine from 2/0 welding cable from the local welding supply shop. These are probably overkill, but superior to OEM. $3/ foot. They will sell you smaller gauge for less.
Do you have a pic of the dual remote oil filter setup? Does it plumb into the cooler lines or is there an adapter that bolts to the block in place of the regular filter?
There's been alot of discussion about why to convert to electric fans. My reasons for considering the swap are:
1. I'm replacing the radiator anyway, so the opportunity for improvement is there.
2. Was hoping to free up some horsepower
3. With my gasser mud racing truck, I've had the fan blades...
Anyone ever try converting to dual electric cooling fans? I've done this for cheap on a gas-powered blazer, using two junkyard fans from two V6 air-conditioned chevy Lumina's. That wasn't so hard since the fans came with integrated shrouds, I just cut the shrouds and joined them with a plate in...
So I've installed a couple new gauges (including a murphy-switch temp control gauge for the vegoil system) that don't have internal lights, making them unreadable at night. I've seen some folks with LED "eyebrow" hooded lights to illuminate parts of the dashboard, but I can't find them and don't...
I'm finding out pretty quickly that it's the little "nickle-n-dime" expenses that get you on a turbo project -- I bought a "complete" turbo setup on Ebay for $615 delivered to my door, that included literally every nut, bolt and washer bagged and labelled. But all the little details, like a...
I don't think so, my OEM injectors have "BOSCH" stamped right into the injector body. I'd like to find Bosch replacement nozzles, not rely on some iffy aftermarket brand (The guy in Texas that has 'em for $62, his supplier is USDiesel, whose website looks like a US front for an anonymous...
Absolutely Westech, I'm replacing the nozzles, but I want to make sure I get nozzles that are compatible. The (bosch part number?) of the injector is usually written ### - ### - ###. Does anyone know if these will fit?

Anyone know the injector number for the '86 M1009? Despite alot of scrubbing with a tooth brush and carb cleaner I still can't read them in the truck. Couldn't find in TM's either.
Installing a GM-3 turbo on my '86 M1009 using salvaged parts from a 93 K3500 6.5 TD. Problem is, there are no ports on the intake or exhaust manifolds at all for installing the boost and pyrometer senders. I don't mind drilling and tapping the aluminum intake, but i'm not gonna drill and tap...
Hey WARWAG,
you mention that you used to up-armor ATM trucks, do you have a good source for factory-replacement ballistic glass and/or kevlar mat? I've done a google search but with mixed results.
PS Did you get your handle from the Deathlands novels?
Does anyone have any experience with these boost/pyro gauges?

They're cheap, but I wonder if they're any good. What the **** is a Mookeeh?!
I'm all about this project. I'm thinking you'd probably want to drive in a ground stake with a stout strap to the chassis to prevent getting zapped in wet conditions. I've always used a ground stake when operating the truck-mounted inverter.
