I switched my fill and vent hoses last fall when I installed a reconditioned tank. My old lines looked good, but as long as the tank was out I decided it was worth a few extra minutes.
Another thing to look at as long as we are talking gas tanks and rubber is the gaskets for the fuel pick up...
I have always been of the opinion that you want to keep the clutch in when starting to reduce as much load on the starter as possible. Even in N in the winter you are trying to turn some gears in the tranny with the starter and those gears are bathing in cold, thick gear lube. A little heel...
You might want to get 2 indentical batteries that that fit your battery box. Having different size batteries is a problem looking for a place to happen.
As the weather got cooler this year, I had the same observations as you. Runs much better after it's been warmed up a bit. I don't need full...
In general, I have found that the following are the generally recommended fluids:
Engine oil: Shell Rotella 15-40
Front and rear diffs, Transfer case and transmission: CRC GL-4 grade 85-90 (GL-5 gear lubes are not friendly to yellow metal which is a component in the transmission syncros.)...
Welcome. Be sure to check out the local MV club, COMVEC. We meet once a month and our annual show is June 9, 2012. Go to COMVEC.org and you'll find details for how to attend one of our meetings. You don't need an MV to join and there are several deuces in the club with as many owners eager...
I never had an issue with letting the POR15 cure for a day or two before priming. I was told several times by the paint supplier I bought it from to never sand it. Regardless, unless you run on salted roads for the next 10-20 years, it should be fine.
Mine fits inside my standard residential garage just fine. The soft top clears the bottom of the door by about 1" and there is enough room to park my riding mower (tractor) in front of it. Measured up, it's foot print is about the same as a Hyundai Sonata, it's just taller!
Many of us frequent both sites but there are some very smart folks who only hang out over there. Pics are always good! Sounds like the bottom plug in the flywheel cover is missing assuming you have a cover installed.
Poison Ivy? Sounds like there are details here that should be disclosed!!! Someone building it? Big truck or little one? Can't find any info other than the name and unit.
Saturday June 9, 2012 at the Chester Fairgrounds, Chester, CT and yes, you must attend!!! We may even have a cake for you........ but don't tell anyone, it's a surprize!!
Don't know why, can't hear much of anything over the whine of the transfer case. Since when did the military care about squeaks? Maybe it's for the M-37S (S= Stealth)
