    Introducing....Boonierat

Thanks, and good luck with your M37. I painted mine with rattle cans, about 48 to be exact! Truck, armor box, the whole deal. Take your time and it will come out fine.

    Introducing....Boonierat

My M37 tribute guntruck. Short box armor, based on Otto, Raider's Light Work and others. Two M-60's, one each side as seen in several photos. Still in progress as I have the side window plates to make up and the interior of the box to outfit, but otherwise, ready to go! Lots of time, effort...

I think you mean May, Bill. That's the date on the flyer....

    Gun Truck Accessories

I've seen Mermite cans, frag vests (M69 for Nam), and lots of ammo cans. I have been told that they also carried a variety of other hand held weapons such as M-16s, M-14s, M-79, LAW, grenades, smokes, and did I say ammo cans? As for sources, local MV shows and gun shows come to mind for the...

    Vietnam tribute Truck

Just wondering why you want to waste your time (and money) putting markings on when you know you'll be sanding them off to re-paint? For myself, I held off on the markings until the end.

2012 MTA of No. Jersey Sussex Show

Having been there a few times my own self, I don't rightly recall a volcano on the property. That said, given the weather over the last 6-8 months, I wouldn't be surprized if one "pops up" (wouldn't be surprized to see a swarm of locusts, either!) If it comes to that, I'm all for doing...

2012 MTA of No. Jersey Sussex Show

Bill, Are you going to do your Nam display again this year? I'm planning on being there Sat (Sun if Sat rains) and I'd like to hang out for a while like last year. I can bring a few goodies to add to your stuff!:jumpin:

    M37: Dismount/remove cargo bed

Let me just add this thought. Assuming that you were successful at what you propose to do, what do you think your insurance company would do if the unthinkable happened? A bad accident with large insurance payout lurking? I'm betting the insurance company would be looking for any way out and...

    Gun Trucks to Carlisle

Might be a good idea to start a new thread in the "Upcoming Events" section for this!

    Cowl Vent Height

In the outermost trough. I'll see if I can get a pic posted in a few days. You'll want to scrape out any old gasket/sealant before painting. I've been told that instead of buying the seal pre-formed, you can just pour in black weatherstripping gasket cement and wait for it to mostly set up...

    9 months of work......

Congrats on a job well done. Never downplay a rattle can paint job. I did mine with rattle cans and most folks can't tell the difference!

I thought someone was doing that truck also. It was one of the ones I was considering at the time....

    New truck, carburetor symptoms?

You'll want to replace anything rubber all along the fuel supply route as the ethanol will reduce it to mush. Fuel tank filler hose and vent hose, fuel tank gaskets (up top, one each fuel pick-up and gauge sender), anything in the carb and the diaphrams in the fuel pump. From what I hear, the...

    M37 Ignition Switch

You can also do what I did (though not authentic) and install a keyed electrical disconnect switch. I hooked mine to the neg cable before it got back to the battery. Key out, no power, period! Keeps kids of all ages from burning out my points if I'm not right with the vehicle at shows.
