I started doing the dual fuel line mod and I noticed it seem to be a little wet between the 3-4+5-6 valve covers around the little hooped fuel lines. Is this a common leak area?
If so what needs to be replaced? O-ring? Is this a Cummins only speacial part?
I don't want to take it apart and...
One other thing is when I'm going up a steep dirt hill the rear tires will slip then the front will grab and then the rear slips agian causing a hopping action. I just thought it was the nature of these "part time" sprag cases.
Do you guys take your trucks off-road and know that your 6x6 work well?
I have drained the fluid and filled the case with diesel and ran the truck short distance with stop and starts to cause the fuel to splash around. Still no help. I'm sure the sprags are just not engaging all the time. I know if I dump the clutch the do engage so I don't think the issue is air...
Why dump the T-138? Let me count the reasons. My sprag clutch case is not reliable. It has left me standard on many occasions. I'm the type of guy that likes the positive reassurance that my front axle is engaged before I attempt to climb a hill or rocks or mud hole or crush a car or hook bumper...
Ok so I got a m-813 with a sprag clutch transfer case... Yeah, I know :deadhorse:.
but here is the new spin.
I wanna trade out the unreliable sprag case for one of the axle tech T-600 that are now flooding the market.
I don't expect this to be at all a bolt in but just wondering what you folks...
I was th biggest skeptic of the Bahr paint before I took the advice of the scores of MV owners that have used it. Now I never paint another military truck with anything else.
I would say heat.( not to much to keep from melting the seal. And use a pickle fork.( not to much so you don't brake the case. And then smake the yoke with a hammer to shock it.
I did the Bahr paint on my m813 and I drive the truck thru over grown trails all the time. It takes a **** of a hit. Tree bark rashes all up and down the truck and the paint is still good.
I'm running 16.00 tires and I love them so I don't think a transfer case with higher gearing is in my future. Simp, can you tell me more about welding the sprag.
Is there any options to swap out the stock sprag clutch transfer case for a case that has a more positive engagement? Maybe a case with air shift. Has anyone ever done this? If so what did you use and what did it take to get it done?
I am having the opposite issue. My horn works 100% on the air side but I'm not getting power to it.
I took the metal slug out that gates the air. Started the truck and the horn runs constant.
