Its what tells the trans how fast its going through weights and centrifugal "force." It is driven off the tail shaft by a plastic gear held on by a roll pin that can shear. Its hidden behind a cover with four bolts on the rear passenger side of the trans, right above the C.V. Be careful not to...
Just so I can be like everybody else and have a transmission problem thread, here it is. Except mine is not the usual "my truck shifts too late" problem. It wouldn't shift at all.
On Monday it randomly just wouldn't shift so I had to drive home and get in my other truck. On tuesday I spent...
When I got mine it had a terrible grinding noise in the rear end because the pinion bearing was pretty much gone. That's usually not an instant thing, though.
I would start checking U-joints since they are easy. Then put it up on the stands and spin it. Also, don't be scared to pull the dif...
They do have a "cheater" class that's mostly jeeps with small blocks and 4" studs. I did what they called street stock which is bare rubber and had about 50 entries. I would have studded some old tires but I had and raced the next level up but I had a hard enough time keeping up with the Subarus.
Took the 1009 to the ice races at Georgetown lake Colorado, and as expected got beat...but it was by a H2 (that was driven by someone who had done this before).

I apologize for the bad video and commentary but I'm...
The rest of the body looks ok in the pictures, so you could just replace the windshield frame and put on a soft top like the original blazers. Although, without the roof a rollcage might be a good idea.
The oil fitting should go in the hole right under the oil cooler lines and above the oil filter and there is a plug that uses 1/4" extension to remove. That hole is NPT, the tread is tapered, so it should stop after a couple threads and that is how it seals.
The fuel line there should be...
I went out this morning to check the fluid levels and found that I was about a quart low on engine oil so I reached in the back of the blazer and pulled out what I thought was a gallon of Rotella. It was a gallon of 85-140 gear oil in a container that looked very similar. I wondered why it was...
I just got a winch myself and went the hidden route. On the 1009 there aren't really any good holes to attach to so my is bracketry is rather complex. That looks so much easier but I have a problem with approach angle already.
Maybe making some handles to carry it would be nice cause that's...
I had a washer pump issue last night, the little spring that holds the arm against some sort of eccentric cam broke. It was an easy fix since the plastic cover just sits over the connectors, just bent a loop on the end of what was left of the spring and reinstalled. Glad I did that last night in...
I'm not an expert, but an Electromagnetic Pulse is, well, a magnetic pulse. The problem it would cause to electronics would be from a large current surge from the voltage induced by the change in the magnetic field. The damage would be most pronounced in devices that are designed for low amounts...
Got the rear main fixed. I have no clue why they used 20 some bolts to hold that oil pan on. It took an hour to get it off without air tools. I'm surprised that it hasn't leaked yet since I used a whole tube of RTV to supplement the pan gasket, and might have over done it, when it was 30 degrees...
It should be a little more powerful with only the turbo up here since its already over fueling. Although I am going to tune it for as close to 1000 on a hill as I can to give it a margin of safety. It should be relatively close to that number right now.
I had high EGT problems mainly going...
It wasn't from a 4x4 so it was hitting the front cross member and I it was close to fitting by the motor mount but I was already going to have to modify it so I made it look like the 4x4 ones I have seen pictures of. The reason I haven't turned up the pump yet is that I got the turbo to lower...
My struggle continues, I didn't get a chance to finish mounting the CDR and it was just flopping around. Today I went for a test drive and the hose kinked and that made oil start spewing out the rear main. Tried it again this afternoon and it seams to have slowed down but it looks like a rear...
My banks turbo install on the cheap has gone completely wrong. Sorry for the long post but I need to vent about bad decisions and incompetent people.
I bought a 1989 C30 for its turbo about a month ago thinking it would be a nice bolt on with very little modification. Not so much, the actual...
A key thing to have in hilly terrain is a pyrometer. Its easy to get egt's of over 1100 with a N/A 6.2 going up hill, especially if altitude is involved. At 11,000 feet they smoke like a chimney. Timing doesn't help as much as you think it should, only like 30 degrees lower when its advanced. A...
I made some 3/8" spacers to drop the T-case so hopefully that works. If not, I'll go to the drive line shop and see what they have to say. Thanks for the support.
What would it look like if it was spinning in the yokes? It was pressed out but was looser then the drive shaft side.
Does lowering the T-case affect the motor mounts?
