New Intermediate Lower Torque Rod Ends
I do a pre and post drive check that includes doing a visual check of the torque rod ends often. I had one (lower outer) on the intermediate axle fail and the rod end not pop off, but jam into the mounting flange, fortunately. I also had a strange brake...
I have an M101A2 and the master cylinder had a bunch of water in it when I got it. It has a bunch of rust in there and bet the brake lines and wheel cylinders are shot.I'd rather replace everything and know what I've got and can rely on it after that. So, I am planning to redo the entire brake...
I've purchased UP 1245 and UP 1246 So many times I thought to look into an alternative. So, I found this:

This seems to...
I think this is another case of people being overly cautious. My hunch is that the diesel oil also meets the specs suggested by the gas engine manufactures. It might do to check them.
I use the Delo 400LE 15/40 from costco also. I got it tested after 3k miles and it was showed zero degradation and it has lots of zinc in it as well as other additives. Good stuff. Don't know about the Rotella. Are you a member of MVCCO? Do any of the parades around here?
I picked up an M101A2 (this thread is about the A3) and the master cylinder is filled with water. I got a new one and anticipate having to replace the wheel cylinders. I want to get the brakes and bearings totally rebuilt this Spring. Did anyone confirm that the eTrailer wheel cylinders are...
Thanks for the feedback. I've never gotten a direct answer about the detroit lockers in this class of differential (have posted here before and on other sites), yet it sounds like you never observed any popping. Rather, the lack of (un)locking front hubs made it very difficult to steer. I...
I’ve driven ½ to one ton trucks with Detroit lockers in the rear and just hated the way they pop and crack and twist the truck around when driving on pavement. They seemed to be too aggressive for regular driving on the street and are known for breaking axles do to all the excessive side to...
I agree. When I was a kid my dad used to take GM 4WD trucks and run them through rivers and crap. Sometime later a wheel bearing or something would fail and it would be all the surprise. The mature attitude is to understand that you can run these things through deep water and they will do...
I get significantly higher EGT's (LDT-465-1D, C turbo, bypassed FDC) looking at the hill data point. It looks like the longer ratio rocker arms on the intake side and pistons keep the temps lower, yet there is no telling if my fuel flow rate and fuel (I'm usually using a blend of whatnot)...
Does anyone have a 3D file or drawing of the frame rail reinforcing plate? I'm hoping to leverage the work someone else has already done to make my own plate from a leftover frame rail.
So yesterday I found a local internet add selling “two LDS-465-1A Continental Engines from Ft Lewis Surplus. Overhauled by the military in the late 1980's and have been stored in sealed metal containers since 1995.” They are complete fan to bellhousing. The seller must move (renter not...
Really? I've been trying to improve the bounciness of the back end and general "slickness" in turns on wet pavement. Which of the torque rod ends did you replace?
Edit for correction after reading other posts: All of them seems to be the answer. I'm very curious to know how much this helps...
Hello Engineer 1SG,
I'm about 100 pounds less than you, but also sometimes have my seat top and bottom out. I bet the shock is shot, no pun intended. I understand the Monroe 66104 is an exact fit for the original and is about $65. Why did you go through all the trouble for the Polaris shock...
Fuel Filters
Note I have intentionally been running my fuel filters longer than I think they should be, especially considering the alternative fuels I run constantly. I wanted to test to failure and replace them at first sign of trouble. It looks like I found that point.
Yesterday I went for...
