    Ntm 923a2 ctis

Thanks. I didn't think there was a valve stem connected to the CTIS parts on the wheel to connect into. I have a hose already to take with me.

Picking up the 923A2 tomorrow. It's coming home on a lowboy. I noticed that i have 1 tire flat and was wondering what I can do to fill that one tire up? Any help is appreciated. Eco

    5Ton Dump Question

We put a 929A1 to good work recently hauling large boulders (over 1000 tons) way back in the woods through muddy trails for work. Best purchase I ever made. Never skipped a beat. Don't know about pulling at highway speeds, but that truck never knew what was in the bed. As someone said, bed...

M939 transfer case air lines installed wrong

Can the bypass be accomplished with removing the big washer that trips the valve arm for the auto engage under the truck? Or, is the assumption that the case is plumbed wrong? Anyone have a picture of the piston which engages the front axle? Need to know how to tell if the front is "in" AWD...

    Transfer Case low range headaches!

Where is the interlock air cylinder located? My lever moves really easy when the truck is not running and no air in the system. But can't budge it when the air is in the system or truck is running. Would like to make this mod ASAP. Need to know where it is and what is involved. Thanks.

    M929 Assistance Please

Thanks GHall. I'm bad at searching, meaning the search words I use never result in anything. A lot of good information there. What I have learned, from reading those threads, and then trying my truck, is that I can move the transfer lever easy when the truck is not running and the air...

    M929 Assistance Please

I am holding the button in, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I think I can move the lever with or without depressing the button. Is it more than just a mechanical lever? I ask because there are two wires that follow the lever through the floor of the truck.

    M929 Assistance Please

The 929 is working pretty good. Just a couple of observations. The thing has no power in 1-5 with any hill. It really struggles. In low range, it does just fine. It does fine in reverse and on more level ground. I noticed today while loaded and trying to go up hill off road that in high...

    GL tax on trucks

Of the 10 or so trucks and 10 or so trailers I bought through GL, they have never collected sales tax. I did not provide a copy of the invoice. I only provided paperwork from the SF 97 process. Even the trucks I bought in PA, GL did not collect sales tax.

    M929 Off Road Ability

I do need to dump. I have military trucks in use on job sites already. Just lax in getting pictures uploaded. I use a M185 (m109) as a mobile office. It's hooked to a generator. Have a drafting table (folds down from wall), a desk, cabinets, couch, couple of chairs, computer, printer, etc...

    M929 Off Road Ability

We just won a project where access is bad. I have budgeted two months rental of a crawler carrier. That's not cheap. I was wondering if the purchase of a M929 would be an ok alternative. I can't rent a crawler carrier that rotates 360, so that takes away one big advantage. Its not a rocky...

    Appels M929 dump truck

Don't the M929's have the same motor as the 817's? I had several 818's and they were horrible for power. We need a new, or second dump, and one with 4x4 is really needed. Our little Ford SA dump has ok power, but it's turbo. Slow on hills. Also, for dump parts its hard to find parts. How...

    M35A2 and M35A3 Transporting Plants

I own an environmental restoration company and we use, and rely on, military vehicles including trailers. They actually aren't that bad compared to other vehicles. Most can burn multiple fuel types including bio-diesel. Shop vans are great for transporting plants.

    Truck inspection ford 6.6

Hi guys, I don't know where else to post this on the site. This is a non-military truck question. I've been trying to do my research without posting here, but ultimately, you guys are the ones I need to hear from. I need to buy a dump truck under CDL. I've narrowed my search to two trucks...

slober tube plumbed back into intake?

The power of search! I have blow by on almost all my trucks. But one in particular is my "daily" truck for my business and I need to go about 150 miles in it this week or next. It has developed what I think is excessive blow-by, but I don't have any coolant in the oil. What harm am I...

    Recovery heading north

Hey Guys/Gals, I just sold my 818 to Dave (aka: farmer73) who is new to this site. He is in it right now heading back to an area north of Syracuse from York, PA. He just left a few minutes ago. So he is doing this in the dark and is new to military trucks. It's a good truck and i have every...

    PA residents and the M818

In PA you can get into trouble for driving a F250 towing a trailer with a trailer GVW of 10001 lbs or over. That truck trailer combination requires a class A license. However, in the past if you tried to take a test in that combination they would laugh at you and deny the test. It's been...

    PA residents and the M818

I got a 5 ton 818 up here in York I might be looking to sell. Real nice truck. Titled in PA. Aside from that, the folks at PennDOT aren't real sure how to handle this situation, at least the 5 or so people I've talked to. I wanted to register it for use, but without a requirement for a...

    Complete brake failure while towing...

Was rolling at about 23k lbs. Truck was empty and trailer with excavator was right about 10k. Engine brake in high was worthless. Over revved the engine, so I just put the clutch in and went for a ride. Only after my scout car cleared the road ahead and warned any oncoming traffic or...

    Complete brake failure while towing...

Was mobilizing some equipment yesterday with the Deuce and had a complete brake failure a few miles from my destination. I was towing an equipment trailer with my mini-excavator on it when it happened. I had a scout car with me and was able to make it to my destination via back roads in low...
