Sorry to drag things out, but what about the two smaller gaskets? I don't know where or which to use. I also need the larger base gasket.
Again, sorry for being pedantic about it, but of all things to get right I think the oil filter is one of them.
Just found an old thread by JWaller HERE and I can read the same 3300911 on the back of the adapter. (It might have been him I bought the kit from now that I think about it!) His post also shows a box with the Cummins number 3300923S, which is what I found Cummins listed as saying pre-68...
I see there are two thickness gaskets for the folder side, any idea how to choose which one they want you to use? If anyone had a part number for the base gasket that would be great!
Hey Guys, I have had a spin on filter kit laying around for a while, and want to put it on this next oil change but I am missing some items. Attached are pictures of what I have. I think I am only missing the base gasket and some instructions, would anyone be able to confirm this? Help help as...
Yes, gauge is mechanical. Oil pressure gauge is filling with some very black oil (time for a change I think). I guess not a lot of trucks have mechanical gauges, either that or they rarely go bad.
If anyone is curious, the listing in the TM's for the mechanical oil pressure gauge is listed in...
I'm not stupid, I checked a good number of sources for a mechanical oil pressure gauge and had absolutely no luck. I tried plenty of searches on Google, and checked eBay too. Searched SS with various keywords and search types. All of the ones I see are electronic or not stated. The one you...
Do you just read the titles of peoples threads and reply with the most snide comments that comes to mind? Wait, don't answer that. It was rhetorical. Thanks for the information on the electronic oil pressure gauges. That is VERY helpful in finding a new mechanical oil pressure gauge.
Hey Guys,
I have a '70 816 and my oil pressure gauge is in need of replacement. It is a mechanical gauge, as evidenced by the oil leaking on my foot. :-P I've spent the last hour looking, but haven't found anything regarding mechanical gauges on these trucks. Does anyone have a part number...
I found the relay to be faulty. I don't know if I am just going crazy, but it failed to start three times, all three right after shutting it down from a drive. Not sure if the heat could have effected it or not. Put another relay on it and made sure it was grounded really well.
Sounds like I have a real similar problem. I haven't spent a lot of time with the truck but both times after driving it the relay wouldn't work. Perhaps something with the heat? Going to check all connections.
Hey Guys,
On the starter relay, the two terminals on top, the rearmost one is the 24v hot from the starter button, and I think the one towards the front is a ground maybe? Is there supposed to be a ground wire there or is it grounded through the mount? Thanks!
I hope this only affects a small number of trucks, would be very sad to tear up a lot of good trucks. I am also VERY surprised that they can do this (despite knowing they can do whatever they want). EPA needs to be taken out back.
