    Virginia Steel Soldiers Rally 2009

That sounds pretty sweet, I'd love to go. Shouldn't be too far of a drive. How far are y'all from Charlottesville (driving time?)

Do you post on ColoradoK5 also? The Cummins swap guy?

Should anyone be curious about those 7k lb 4 post lifts

Nice truck! I see you have deuce shackles on the front... if you're interested, I'll trade you a set of CUCV shackles straight up if you think they'll fit in a flat rate box!

    winch

You could probably net close to $1K for the Warn 12K, which should put you in the neighborhood for the PTO winch kit for a deuce... minus shipping either way.

    CUCV for the ladies

Haha that's an SAS 'Pinky' Land Rover from WW2, they used them in the North African desert, among other places. Very capable 4x4's!

    CUCV for the ladies

Doesn't quite have the same war-time heritage as this pink 4x4:

    More winching ops questions

I've seen quite a few rigging examples that use double snatch blocks. But I've never been able to find one for sale... I have however seen two single snatch blocks rigged to the same anchor point. Is this how it's done, or am I missing the 'double snatch block' section of the catalog? I've...

    Winch hook capacity

Cranetruck alluded to it, someone asked about good places to get rigging, shackles, clevises, hooks, blocks, etc. I'm a fan of Crosby, Inc. They are an industrial provider for rigging equipment. AWDirect also carries rigging supplies, but not at the same ratings as Crosby has.

    Offroad Lights

What about recessing some hellas or some other flat lights behind the grille? You could even trim the bars of the grille, or reshape them to fit. Exactly like the headlights, but just more of them. Oh, I thought I'd add - seeing your trail rig, I'm sure you've seen 'Rock Lights' before, I...

    6.2L to SM465 Flywheel Confusion

Kenny, Thanks for the help, I assumed (yeah we all know what that gets you) that your number was a PN because it had the same digits and same 140-series. I'll double check around and cross reference with my guys at Carquest, hopefully I can finally make this happen! Also, thanks for the tip...

    6.2L to SM465 Flywheel Confusion

OK gents, I've been doing extensive research ahead of swapping in an SM465 granny gear 4spd and NP205 behind my 6.2L. I've got my parts list done up, most of the parts collected, and I'm down to the last few elements - specifically- flywheel pressure plate clutch and bearings associated...

    M1008 front differential!

The inner spline count is what you'd need to know with regards to putting a locker. There's a good tech article on Pirate4x4, Billavista wrote the 'Dana 60 Bible' and it has more Dana 60 technical info than you could ever hope to memorize.

    My new pile of parts

Thanks for the info. Just have to find the correct adapter and I can use the 28 spline transmission. Got a line on another 205 with adapter for SM465, gonna email him and get some photos and figure out what the spline count is. I had some serious rust issues on my M1028 cab, and while searching...

    My new pile of parts

What are the pros and cons to the 10 spline output SM465 vs. the 28 spline output? I've now got one of each and trying to figure out which would be better. I lucked across a new cab for my M1028 that just happened to be from a manual trans truck, so I got the pedals, pedal hanger, hydro clutch...

Guys I really made a boo-boo -warning carnage!

I'm trying to visualize it... did the truck slide backwards into the tree, striking just rear of the cab, and then tearing everything up, finally resting on the bumper? Either way, what a sickening feeling. Hope you get it out OK. Good luck!

Just got a ticket need help!

Well frankly, if he DOESN'T have to have the sticker (and depending on various arguments and the code, he may indeed not have to have it) then he SHOULDN'T pay the ticket. If you're not guilty, then plead not guilty. But you may spend well over the $100 fine researching/getting representation...

    deuce winch rating

Wasn't there a picture on here of a winch that had the sheer pin replaced by a grade 8 bolt, that sheered the winch case housing instead?
