I think from the fly wheel end you would turn it counter clockwise. I uncrated one of mine today, siezed up tight with Iraqi sand in the intake and the oil looks like tar.
There was alot of fuel coming out of the center plug, alot more than I thought there would be. as soon as the in tank pump came on. I will get with the owner and see about popping the head off. The truck did set for awhile.
I did check that ,it moves freely. how far forward does it move? I would say the lever was straight up and down when i let it go.seemed to move 1/2-3/4"back.
Helping out a fellow Steelsoldier I have run into an odd situation. Form my search on the operation of the IP hydraulic head I have found alot of info. But I still have a Question, We have good fuel to the head, good fuel out of the head and the plunger is free and moving. There is no fuel from...
It would be alot of work to get it back together. But Air brakes ,Mack engine and an air shift transfer case could be cool too. Is that a Memphis conversion? Around here you could get about $3500 in scpap but you got to remove all oil and fuel tanks. I hope some one will save it from the shredder.
The loose oil plug could be more than it look's like. Ditto on the fan blade turning, done it on alot of engines. was there an air cleaner filter in it? if they drained it at turn in they would have drained most if not all fluids. I have seen them drain brakes, power steering...
It is strange that the CV type are weaker, they have so much surface area to spread the power. Why do all (or most) front wheel drive cars have the CV type? My wives Saturn is fwd CV and between what it weigh's and can tow is about 9500lbs and has 275hp.:driver:
There is no in tank fuel pump on the Cummins powerd trucks. I would get some more fuel in those tanks. the fuel gauge could be off and you are sucking air. are you getting any pressure on the hand primer? also as mentioned above check your fuel selector for air/fuel leaks.
I picked up two Mep-003's from Pa. Gl ,changed filters and fluids new battery's both run good. Also will be picking up some Onan parts engines from Columbus just in case.
Everyone has an opinion and knowledge based on there own experiance. I think we all will learn from both of you. Now shake hands and let's learn some more. I have been in this thread war before and it can bring hard feelings between two or more members. We need to stick together.
I think 5" would be ok, but what did you use for fill? the fill and compaction make all the differance. Also you want good drainage keep that water running away.Did you end up with any bird baths?. I just poured a 36x32 pad 4-5" thick and even though I know it is on a solid sub. I wont park any...
