I had a transfer case on a cj-7 jeep that did the same thing, a set screw had come loose allowing high range in 1 axle and low range in the other axle, it felt like it was fighting itself when ever I tried to move. Might be a simple fix.
Thanks for the offer Gary. I was doing some measuring today and plan on cutting 36" off the bed and moving the rear axle back about 20" so its centered with the hook looking thing on the side of the bed. Gotta get some of those big jack stands for doing the job. Have you guys been torching the...
RE: Bigmike
This is my last duece that I no longer have. It looked like crap but had 600 miles on a fresh motor, trans and tires. My current duece still looks the same as the day I picked it up.
Hey Burt I'm watching you on tremors 2 right now! The house next door to me is a bank repo and is going to auction. The agent hosting the open house for the next 3 weekends came over and asked whos truck that is across the street in kind of a disgusted tone. After I told him it was mine,his...
RE: Bobbing my duece
What are you doing for a bed? I'm plan on bobbing mine sometime soon. I would like to cut the stock duece bed down so I can still use the troop seats and have a decent size bed.
I burned up a transfer case on a jeep cherokee from flat towing with the driveshaft connected. I learned my lesson the expensive way. Have towed my M1009 probably 1500 miles now and always disconnect the driveshaft. They tow very nicely, just a little heavy on the big hills.
That truck (DMA251's) is only about 40 miles from me now. I sold the guy my towbar last year and he came out in his very nice M998. Said he was going to tow the Hummer with the 5 ton to go camping at Pismo Beach.
Mine had the same problem, it was an easy fix by loosening the 2 bolts that hold the vacuum modulator thing on the side of the injector pump then rotating it a little so that the transmission doesnt think its wide open throttle. It regulates how much vacuum goes to the transmission to tell how...
He is the MOST unpleasant GL person I have ever dealt with over the past 6 years of dealing with them at 6 different sites on about 10 truck/trailer purchases.
Just checked my calendar and its my mother in laws birthday party  . Wife says I can go but would have to be home by 1:00. I'll keep working on her to get a pass until at least 5:00. Do you know the hours Will?
Since the subject came up, I purchased a boost guage and pyrometer from Jegs.com a few weeks ago. They were around $130 for the pair made by VDO. In the past I have bought autometer guages and have never had a problem with the guages not function or not having all the hardware. VDO on the...
Chuck, if nobody is interested in it post it up on craigslist here in the Los Angeles area, I'm sure you'll find somebody willing to come pick it up and give you some money. All the blazers I have seen in the pick a parts out here have had the tops taken.
I just took my valve apart and it seems like there should be a check ball in there at one end. I have shims and the spring but no check ball, can anyone tell me if it sounds like its missing something? Thanks
