I prefer the box seat myself. I'm 6'2" and I dont have to lean down to see out the windshield like with the spring seat and it seems to go back further or my cushion is thinner than the spring seat, plus it provides a nice storage place for stuff.
Spent the weekend at Disneyland so the duece was on hold until last night. Finally got that darn bogie assembly out, had to fire up the torch which I should have done a long time ago. Tomorrow I hope to have the axle mocked up with the springs and sitting back under the truck, I dont like having...
Sorry to hear you have to sell it. Good price for a bobbed duece considering all the work involved. Throw it up on ebay. Heres my progress for today, only got about 1 1/2 hours of interrupted work time.
RE: Re: RE: form 97 request
Ive only been waiting since Jan 29th. I sent an email in the begining of April and this is what they replied with. Its frustrating but it gives me time to finish my bob job since I cant drive it anyway. I cut and pasted it below.
The posting is accurate, we are...
Progress on mine is slower than expected. Those darn rivets are a PITA! Started drilling them out to hopefully relieve enough pressure to pop them out with the impact hammer. Polverone came out and gave me a hand with the bed on Saturday. Parking is getting real tight in the garage now with the...
RE: Duece front U bolts needed ASAP!!
Did'nt think of that, thanks. I think Offroadfabworks has some. I haven't heard of not re-using them before, anybody else know if thats a big no-no?
Ive started my bob job and the only parts I still need are the U bolts (4) for the front springs. The local shop out here wants $35 each to make them. Anybody have any laying around for sale? By Sunday I hope to be installing the single rear axle and will be stuck without the U bolts. Thanks...
RE: Re: RE: Fontana trip
SteelandCanvas, I had my eye out for your shock and didnt see any, dont know if Will came across any. Its kinda like junk yard wars where you have to look in every nook and cranny to find what you need. I got all the hardware to bob my truck, minus the U bolts, 2 extra...
It looks great! Very proportionate. Did you have to get the drive shaft lengthened with the 8 inch movement of the axle? I got started on mine today, probably only had 30 minutes of actual work time in between watching the kids. Got the rivets heads cut off on the drivers side. Still have to do...
I just picked up all the hardware to bob my truck today, except I need 4 u bolts for the axles since the old ones were torched off. Hopefully I can get started this week...woo hoo!
I had a jeep that would randomly slow down almost to a crawl while engine rpm went high. Turned out to be a clogged trans filter would starve the tarnny of fluid. Serviced the trans with new fluid and a filter and never happened again. I would definately start with new fuel, fuel filter and...
Antelope Valley truck and equipment sells a keyed locking door handle that is a direct replacement for the duece door handle. I had one on my last truck, only problem is its chrome. My currecnt truck I just use a chain on the steering wheel and chain the drivers side door shut from the door...
I cant take it anymore, I keep seeing "FWIW" and I cant figure out what it means. Sorry to get off topic but I'm sure I am not the only one scratching their head. Can someone please fill me in. Thanks
