I never expected it to turn out this nice. My buddy owns a hotrod shop and has a real eye for detail. He has decided to start doing a couple of military vehicles and 4wd's. My truck was his pilot vehicle. Look up Bulldawg Musclecars in Cartersville, GA.
Well, we are getting close! Loads of pictures to come once I pick it up. I can't wait to get this on the road!
Here it is with a fresh coat of Gillepsie 383...
Probably the smartest single upgrade I did to my set was the exhaust "stack". Not sure if I have this pictured in earlier posts in this thread. Additionally, the aux fuel tank is great. If you mount yours static, do these things. The 90 gallon diesel tank is great. With the onboard tank I have a...
I have an 803a, that's what is pictured in my install. I rarely have to manually manage loads. I just know that I can't run the strip heat on the heat pump, water heater, and other high resistive loads at once. I have ran my oven, clothes dryer, and central A/C as well as other normal incidental...
One more update... It is primed now! Eventually I will be changing the hubs to something more suitable than the spacers. I have not had the chance to drive it with the spacers installed so we will see how they work out. I will let you guys know when I know more about how hey perform.
I will let you know when I drive it. I am waiting on primer and fresh OD green paint. We are getting real close. My buddy owns Bulldawg Musclecars in Cartersville and is doing the work. I am on his schedule and will get it when he is done. He is going way beyond what I would have been capable of...
What an awesome thread! Thanks for taking the time to detail every step of your build. I am certianly more educated now and inspired to do much of the same to my truck. Not trying to revive this thread but really wanted to express my thanks.
Alright, it's been awhile. ORD 6" lift installed, civvy 8' box is mounted in place of the tool body, tires are on it... Paint will be soon. I plan to be driving it in a month!
.
Ok guys, I figured id post a few pictures... Box is off and my buddy and his guys are making progress! Here is where we are at now. Looking forward to the lift!
OK guys, I ordered some more parts from ORD. Boxes are showing up everyday at the house and my wife is freaking out... (She's German ) Have a look at this list now and tell me what I am missing. With the billet wheel spacers that are not listed, I have $2,366 in what I hope will be a high...
I guess if it will ever cool off enough in Georgia, I will switch over to the generator and let the heat pump run through a defrost cycle when the strip heat kicks on. I think a few of us are interested to know if the 803 is up to the task... It's about time for another load bank test as well...
You guys have me convinced that I need to change my oil now. I was going to wait on the 100 hour mark but just test running it, I have only accumulated about 20 hours on my 803 since the install. It has been in place for a little more than a year (I think) and I have not changed the oil in it...
This is going to turn into quite an adventure. I just found out today that a buddy of mine has a Cummins 6bt long block that he is willing to donate to the cause! Now the wheels really are turning... If I could adapt an Allison transmission to the NP205 I think I would have a beast... :D:D
I could never get a definitive answer as to the thickness of spacer that I'd need for my truck. Most folks on other forums were saying between 2" and 3" so I just settled for the 3" ones. I really wish I would have started this thread prior to ordering any parts. The wealth of knowledge on SS...
