If I just start a cold truck with no air and walk away it takes 10 min to get to full pressure. If I run it at 1500 rpm it will pump up in 5. Once you are on the road with the turbo helping I never have any problems with low air. I think a 5 or 10 min warm up on a cold truck is a good idea...
What is your issue with air, Bighurt? I am using my 915a1 every day right now and only very rarely have low air issues. I will time a couple of my trucks from empty tanks to full if it will help you. Let me know.
That was the point I was trying to make. If it is just the front tandems, it is a parking brake problem. If it is all four, then something is up on the service brake side. I should have been more clear.
There is a quick release valve on the frame that does the parking brake and the service brakes. It is problematic from time to time. You might try putting two regular quick release valves in its place. This will only help if all 4 rear brakes on the tractor are stuck. If the parking brakes...
It sounds to me like you actually already know what you want. The 925 series in the a2 variety. I suspect that they are going to get a lot more common at auctions in the next 6-12 months. If you do not have a pressing need I would advise you to wait a little.
The first ones sold will be in...
I need a couple of lunettes if the are not going straight to the shredder. I am working on a tow bar project for a non MV. I hope that is the right term for the ring that hooks to a pintle hitch.
It looks to me like you just got the surface hot and got a run. It may have warped, but I doubt it. I know that if it was mine I would clip that off with a cut off wheel and put everything back together. The gaskets are cheap and it is only about a 45 min job to pull a turbo. The headache of...
My 915a1's are all having light switch problems. I dug into two trucks today. The marker light circuit was getting SUPER hot on both trucks.
On one truck the terminal block was melted so bad I had to cut the marker light section out with tin snips. The other truck was almost as bad but it...
I had to throw my brother a bone. He has been hauling all of the grain this year and the 915a1 was starting to beat him up.
He picked up an air ride seat at the junk yard and I installed it.
It was mostly straight forward. I tapped the air line that...
You might consider a rim with some type of solid loop welded to it. You could install it yourself and then beat a 4x4 or a bar of steel in it. That way you wouldn't have to handle the whole mess and get the digger portion in the ground at the same time you line up the lugs.
If I have bad luck with the search here I often try the same search in google. The results usually sends you right back to steel soldiers. This has worked well for me several times.
After the c turbo, the single biggest source of noise is bad hood hinges and side cover rattles. I put a d turbo and muffler on my truck. It really helped with the noise. I bushed the hinges on the hood and that made a huge improvement. I am working on the clattering side panels now...
