Just another idea. You might check your air filter and mushroom. You may have picked up something that is giving you an air restriction. That will make it smoke at stock fuel setting.
One of my trucks shows 15 lbs pressure at idle and 30 running. It has not given me any trouble yet. A common problem with these trucks is a mismatch between the oil pressure sender and the gauge. This will cause your oil pressure to show 1/2 actual pressure. I agree with the other posts when...
Have graphics printed up that say something to the effect the the truck contains live poisonous snakes. Also print a small label for each door handle warning the public and law enforcement that the truck contains snakes. You could call this the Snakes on a Truck security system!
I think your your $3000 figure is a little on the low side. An auction truck may be possible in that range. The winch is where your money gets tight. If it is a must have, I think is is always cheaper in the long run to purchase a truck already equipped. When you buy an auction truck you...
That is a nice repaint! As a farmer myself I can tell you that in 20 years that truck will most likely still be on the road. I am transitioning from single axle dump trucks to 915a1s on my own farm. My last two trucks were bought new by my father in 1975 and 76. They are still in great...
The top hose on the deuce is about 5" long. There is only about 2" between the engine and the radiator. I don't think there is going to be room for the Tefba filter. I like the idea if that unit though.
I read that as caster oil first. I used to use that in 2 stroke dirt bikes. It smells great when you burn it. I am going to have to add some to the deuce. I bet it burns it to well to get that nice smell but it will be cool if it doesn't. Sorry, no use full info to your real question.,
It is an AD2. I found several nos ones on ebay this summer. Check around. I paid less than $200. If you have an AD8 it was already changed by someone. They offer the AD2 in 12 and 24 volt. My trucks are all set up for the 12 volt. They are that way stock.
Mistaken1 That graphic is awesome. I Know ohm's law but always have to try 3 or 4 different combos on my calculator until I get an answer in the range I know is right. I am going to print that and put a copy in my car, house, and shop. I should probably put one in the deuce too.
I now it is a blasphemy here but I took a C off my truck and installed a D. I picked up 1-2 lbs of boost but you really only make boost at full throttle on a grade or in top gear. I do not think you will notice a performance difference, I did not.
The D turbo is much quieter. I installed a...
I enjoy this post with the passion of 1000 squealing Justin Beber fans. I could not hate the patriot any more unless the new Dodge puts a Fiat motor in it.
I had the same trouble with my safety relief. I replaced it with an air compressor safety valve. You have to get one for a compressor that relieves at about 150 psi. I found one with the right threads and everything.
I did not know what the correct spelling for dryer was so I...
You are a lucky bastard if only one guy talks to you. I only have one neighbor and my wife asked if we can buy their house when they move so we won't have any. Living in the country is great.
It was a 5 minute fix and works great. I know how redneck it looks. I thought it was too funny to keep to myself. Laugh at my expense. With my stock heater and 24 volt maradyne heater under the passenger seat I stay toasty if I can get water temp. over 160 deg. I had the cab over 65 deg and...
A friend of mine in the trucking industry told me that cardboard right on the front of the radiator could walk the bearing out of the water pump. I was going out to cut wood yesterday and I wanted some heat in the truck. This is what I came up with. When the engine is running it pulls tight...
