I had the exact same thing happen with my hood right after I purchased my first deuce. I had just flushed the radiator and changed the antifreeze. I drained my new coolant and cleaned off the 3 or 4 layers of paint. It soldered right up. I just decided to be more careful with the hood but a...
I have titled my 915a1 trucks with no problem. They do have a 16 digit number but are older than your a3. Make sure there is not a prefix # on your data plate that will give you your extra numbers. My trucks were built in 83
Good looking truck! I use a ball joint press to push out wheel studs. It works better than beating stuff with a hammer. If you are lucky they will loan you one at the auto parts store. You probably know already, but there are right and left hand threads on the deuce wheel lugs. The ends of...
I would try the switch that controls an attic fan. They have a manual on and an adjustable thermostat. I have one in the peak of my shop roof. Switches don't know the difference between ac and dc power.
OD means olive drab. Short for really cool army color. I can't believe that nice dodge has not spoiled you for old trucks! I got a kick out of the runs when parked marking. So did everything else in the whole world. Good looking truck. I hope you enjoy it. You have found the best place for...
The plastic fuel lines are another good thing to check when the truck is hard to start. If you had a flashlight and the driveway was wet you would probably know you had a leak.
Welcome from IL. You will find the deuce to be a very useful tool. I have done everything from camping, to moving hay bales, to farm service truck, to appliance pick up at sears. They drove the fork lift right in the back with the new washer and dryer. The also go great in the snow. I hope...
Nothing treads into that part it is just a vent. You should hear it vent when you shift from forward to reverse. If it vents air all the time you have found your problem, replace or repair that valve.
Runs out good doesn't it! The one I got from Jeff City was also super nice. The tachograph in these trucks have a bad habit of having sticky tacks. One of mine shows that it will only rev to 1700 rpm but it will still run 60 mph. You are probably turning 2350 at 65mph. I don't think you...
Cundupa, This is the second or third time you brought up my lack of 817 ownership. Yes I miss that truck but it paid for almost two 915s. I hope it is getting good fresh fuel and a stiff workout. What do the drivers think of it?
Air o matic was my fist mod. An in cab heater was the second. That was in addition to the stock heater. On sub zero days last winter I could still get to 65 deg. in the cab. The dog and I enjoyed it on snow drift adventures.
Harvest is in full swing and so are the military trucks. We are hauling grain with the 915a1s and using a deuce for a contact maintenance truck. Dad runs the combine. My brother runs the weigh wagon/ grain cart. I drive the 2 915a1s. We unload on the go so the combine never stops moving...
