I recently purchased a model 750 swench off of ebay. I really like it. It makes breaking lug nuts loose easy. I also like not throwing my back out when 6 foot of cheater lets go all at once. I plan to use it to put the lugs back on. The swench manual says to count the number of times the...
My 915a1 will do this if it sits for a while. There is a plastic brake light switch on the firewall on the engine side that gets stuck. I tap it with the back of a screwdriver and it is good to go. I need to pull it apart and see if I can clean or lube it. Check the handbrake first, It has...
I think there was a thread about 2 weeks ago about new aluminum radiators for the deuce. I searched and have not been able to find it. I hope I am not just off my meds about that because thats what I would like to do when mine dies.
I have a similar unit mounted under the passenger seat in my deuce. It works great. In sub zero temps I am about 55-60 deg. in the cab. I taped all of the holes in the fire wall with gorilla tape. It is still there 2 years in. I left the stock heater in place and use it for defrost. I have...
My stuff is now getting Arizona titles. I got titles on my recent truck purchases and sf-97 on trailers. I am now getting charged sales tax on everything. That bothers me a lot more than the extra money for a real title.
Yeah, they all rattle. They are usually louder when the compressor is about to shut off. I just picked up a rebuilt drier for one of my trucks. I should be an expert on their insides by this time next week. I am just swapping the insides and bottom cap so the color will not change. My new...
Don't worry about it unless the compressor has trouble keeping up. You want to let that engine warm up long enough to bring the air up all the way anyhow.
Deer also do a lot less damage to military vehicles when they are overcome by depression and jump into traffic. I know I would rather be in my Deuce than my Buick if I hit one.
When I get something really muddy like that I have a trick. I put two lawn sprinklers in the driveway about 5 feet apart. I pull the truck over them and turn on the hose. I move the truck a foot or two each hour. You still have to pressure wash, but a lot less. You can usually enjoy several...
The bolts to cage the brakes are located on the band that clamps the air chamber together. They are rarely missing. A 3/4" wrench on the middle axle will get you moving.
That was probably installed correctly at the time of the transmission install. If you search around you will find several threads about that jack shaft getting loose all by itself. I locktite and torque every deuce I get before I even drive it the first time. Over half are loose.
There is a thread on changing the seals somewhere here. They recommend leaving the wheels bolted to the hub and sliding them off with a dolly or on a greased sheet of tin. This is a lot easier on the back. Have fun.
Wow, that looks like you used a time machine to get it. Almost to good to have fun in. The look of those tires tells me you have some fun in mind though. Great job!
And you can even set the hand throttle to keep the compressor up to speed! And you can get a small air tank with a 3/8 line in and 1/2 line out and run air tools! And you can get pvc pipe and build a air powered spud gun! What did I ever do before I had a deuce?
