After a brief overview of the inside of the hood and the underneath of my deuce, I've noticed a few leaks and took pictures of what I could see. If there's any that appear to be significant and need attention please let me know. Thanks!
Today I attempted the advice that was offered here in this thread and the results were superb.:driver: The shifts actually felt smooth and I was happy with them. Although, I'm still trying to get used to it and I did get a few shakes, but they were very small light shakes. All in all, I'm...
Another question, I was told that these trucks are notorious for having head gasket failure and it's best to check to make sure the cylinders are clear before starting the truck. True/False?
So let me get this straight. It's fine to slip the clutch when first starting off and when i want to shift to the next gear I need to stay on the throttle until fully in the next gear? Will this cause any shaking when shifting? It seems as if I were to stay on the throttle while im shifting to a...
Well, ****. I knew it had to be at least slipped some for a smooth take off. I don't know why he said the clutch always needs a prompt release, cause it's been he|| driving it like that.
I'm going to start off by saying, I'm probably doing this ALL WRONG. I was told that the deuces clutch is NEVER supposed to be slipped, so in all situations the clutch is designed to be let out rapidly/immediately. Ok, so that's what I've been doing since he said that, and the results feel...
Just a question about the deuces acceleration. When I have the throttle in my deuce fully open in 5th gear, high range. It will reach 2000 to 2100 rpms effortlessly, but then it appears to slowly creep up to the rpm range i want to be in (2300-2350). I don't know if this is normal behavior, just...
How does the window attach to the regulator, is it with a screw or a clip? If I can get the window off the regulator then this should solve my problem.
It doesn't seem at all complex, it's just stuck in the door from being bent and I don't really want to buy an entire door if i can end up getting out the crank with some creative thinking. I thought maybe there's a trick to doing this kind of repair.
The original owner of my truck completely ruined the crank for the window inside the door. It's so horribly bent inside the door that it's nearly impossible to move. Anyways, I started off by removing the 4 screws for the crank and then the window crank handle. I then tried to force the window...
Did you leave it running at all your stops? Also, the fact that it needs that 5 minute startup/cool down period makes it a bit of a pain to take around places.
ha, they might have one **** of a time trying to maneuver it around a parking lot. Still anyone with limited knowledge of these trucks would know they have a push button start, so regardless if it's running or not it's just as easily taken. When does it become too long of an idle, an hour...
So if i take a trip to the grocery store in the deuce I shouldn't leave it running while i go inside? I had a diesel mechanic who told me these multifuel engines were meant to run, not to be driven around like an suv, start, stop, start, stop. Is he right?
****, that's not a bad idea, but would it work? Is it safe to test both of these methods? Attempting to choke the engine with the mushroom cap at idle and then testing the c02 on the fording hole.
