Unfortunately they dont build them like they used to . We'll be lucky if they move under thier own power in 15 years.....those are from the generation of "throw away trucks". They really look good, would be nice to have one now, before the computer crap decides to stop working.:-D
What year(s)?
Do they run?
How much rust?
Any electrical problems?
How are the tires?
Miles on engines?
Last time they were driven?
Are they complete?
:-D
I'm not real computer savvy....what would it take to setup an "advanced search" option with the tm's, particularly the list posted by bunker builder. I read until i got a headache without finding more than "breaking system" or such, which listed no procedures on bleeding. I just ask because time...
better approach/departure angles are achieved without adding bigger tires....you said 4 inch lift earlier so to be clear i'm talking suspension lift, not aware of a 4 inch body lift even available, maybe custom.:-D
Torque converter bolts dont stop making noice when warm, unfortunately.
I just did a trans swap today so my mind is fresh...I have seen "dust covers" that would contact the flex plate at startup and for a little while, never did find out why they quit making noise when warm though, and the...
that "button"doesn't have anything to do with pedal pressure, just a warning device. As I said before, back ward bleed it and then bleed it normally. If that doesn't give you real good pedal than they sold you a bad master...:-D
no, not at this point. I would just lay the cover over the master without making a good seal and pump those brakes for all you got. I call it backward bleeding, i'm sure there's a real name for it. It will get fluid all over the place if your not careful, but it will also bleed all the air out...
I say get the truck, you'll be glad you did! I would also like to add that although I drive my 1008 whenever I can, it's nice to have other options in the drive way.....I say own vehicles for a purpose. Just my opinion. good luck.:-D
dumb question.....did you bench bleed the master first....I know you bled it but if you got air down in the middle you'll fight it for more than a quart of fluid. No, I dont know how that clip, rod, etc. goes together...good luck.:-D
I'd like to put those cab lights on the 1008, hopefully someone will chime in here and tell us exactly where to tap those lights in......:-D
edit: camo is not in the trucks future, it is black and would look cool with the cab lights I think.
Let me take this opportunity to say: I'm not starting a pissin' contest....lol, with that in mind...
If that gravel trailer didn't have brakes on it's rear axles than an extreme amount of leverage would be applied to the tractor, this leverage could not be overcome by the tractor under any...
I just wanted to clarify/correct this info for future viewers: The 12 bolt will use the same "straps" and u-joint(1310) as the 10 bolt, brake lines will match, 12 bolt uses the same axle u-bolts aswell(diameter). The only real noticable difference will be 2 more bolts and a slightly longer snout...
Sound like the snow blower idea is a good one, you could also use a pulley hooked to the tree, hooked to another vehicle with cable. Drive forward to raise the cab, roll frame out from underneath and back a trailer under it and set it down....ready to be scrapped:-D
