2Deuces wild, are you guys in northern CA? I have property in McArthur (5 acres) and really want to live up there and leave Florida behind for good! Here we are in Hurricane season again - need I say more? I love the compliment (red neck hoist) - Faye would call it that as well (my...
Well Wayne, I'll be driving along I-95 right near where you are located in Baxley. Have you ever seen one of these things? Really huge! The smaller units look like a better system - lighter and probably much easier to haul without the deuce-sized tires. I was looking at some that were coming...
Forgot to provide my phone number in case you need anything else: 321 427-3070. Pulling the wire off of each of the glow plugs is a great idea that I did not think of. Also not having to pull the air cleaner is interesting too. I guess it is the fumes that do the job when it comes to using...
The lube trailer I have is the big one with the angled frame. I was fortunate to have a friend with one of these and hooked it up to my M1008. Plenty of ground clearance and the trailer towed with no difficulty. I don't recommend towing this with an M1009 though! I posted some photos...
Oh Kenny, where were you when I needed help loading this thing! (Ha Ha!). Basically this is something that would help when a person is in the middle of nowhere and has a bunch of bungee cords laying around and no other resources. I was just too lazy to use my floor crane which was not far...
I just went back and looked at one of your threads about using waste motor oil in your CUCV. Unless you filtered it down to 1 micron this could be the reason that you are having trouble starting your truck. If your injectors are clogged there is very little you can do except get a tow to where...
Pull the glow plug card to disable the glow plug system, remove your air breather and shoot a very short burst of starting fluid into the intake manifold then crank the motor. It should start right away and continue to run if it is getting fuel. I learned this from watching my friend Lavarok...
I was trying to load a deuce tire & rim into the bed of my CUCV and could not lift this thing to slide it up the tailgate and into the truck. This will be my sparefor the lube trailer that I have to pick up in a few days. Just for the hell of it I hooked up a bunch of bungee cords from one of...
I tried using a Porta Power on a few of my deuce rims without too much luck because the foot kept creeping off of the tire before the bead broke. I used the front of the deuce for the other end of the portapower which worked fine. I think the answer with my application would be to obtain a...
Here's the solution someone used to make the fuel pump run in my truck - for a while anyway... Definitely a bad pump in my tank! Power is there where it needs to be. I am amazed that my truck starts and runs as good as it does! I figured I would check to see if my lift pump was functional...
While heading to Florida I saw a huge number of M35A3's sitting in a cow pasture on the northbound side of the road. There was a phone number on a huge fire truck (912) 832-4079) that advertised "Light Industrial Land" for sale. I just wonder if anybody knows about this collection. I can just...
If you still have the three capacitors that I think are in-line with your wiper motor's wiring (used for radio noise suppression) try by-passing them to see if things improve. My M1008A1 had a bad connection in one of these which prevented my high speed from working. When I did a direct...
Wow Ian! Ebay Buyer and Ebay seller together on Steel Soldiers! I still intend to buy one of the Roboimpacts but in the meantime I can use that Dewalt 1/2" impact with adapters to fit the 3/4" budd socket. I can run it off of my NATO outlet with that cheater battery I made but the trick is to...
Lavarok just bought a Roboimpact from and Ebay auction that had issues with one of the brushes and the brush retainer which is cracked and needs replacement. It had been jerry rigged to make it work but had successfully broken one lugnet free before we made a Youtube video of the robotool in...
No luck at all. Kept getting an error message to indicate voltage was not constant, etc. One of these days I hope there is someone on this web site who might know where to send the system to get it recalibrated or checked for defects. My STE/ICE unit looks like new so it may just be needing...
Just uploaded three very short videos out at the 2009 Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall Reunion today. Lots of military trucks there for the festivities to include a Dodge M880 CUCV communications truck complete with the shelter that was packed with functional radio equipment. Each year this event...
Thanks for the info! I'll probably just go with the spacers and see if I an find some lower profile tires for the H1 rims to eliminate lifting the vehicle. It looks great to lift a CUCV but I'm a little guy and it is already hard to mount up as it is!
