    H1 wheels on M1028

I would just like to get wider tires on my M1008 and have the 12-stud H1 rims sitting in my garage. I still have to buy spacers but wonder if there are wider tires that will go on the H1 rims which will not require lifting the truck. I got stuck in the mud once when running through Holopaw...

    m1009 fuel tank isssues

The GM Part # is 14050685 according to the 1984-87 CUCV Parts and Illustration Catolog. This book was provided to GM dealerships across the country for local procurement of unique and common parts that the various CUCV trucks used. I'll provide a scan of the page with the tank and components...

Solargizers on sale at Sportsman's Guide

A while back there was a guy selling five (5) solargizers for only $75.00 under Buy It Now. It really pays to look at Ebay once in a while for items you are looking for. I do what is called Save This Search for certain items and you get an email each time the item you are looking for gets...

    4 bolt Reese hitch

Here you go! Bought this at a local auto parts store that also stocks trailer parts and hitches - around $85.00 and the bolt pattern was identical to that on my M1008A1. I haul a 20 foot car trailer with this hitch all the time. The biggest problem appears to be the height of the ball in...

    Mep002a

Chester247, Could you let me know the specifics on the spin-on filter adapter & the filter number? I keep hearing about the problem with the filter gaskets so I am reluctant to change mine prior to obtaining the correct gasket (if available). Sounds like you go a new generator!

    LMTV hydro fluid

According to TM 9-2320-392-10-2 it says to add hydraulic oil. I scanned both of the pertinent pages, the second of which indicates MIL-PRF-5606H (OHA), Hydraulic Fluid, Petroleum Base, Aircraft, Missile and Ordinance. On page 0100 00-1/2 blank, it refers to "Hydraulic Oil" and when you look at...

Tow bar from d rings on M1009

I paid $600.00 for the one you see in the photo and it came with two sets of feet (3/4" pins and the 1" pins) and a set of brand new axle clamps. The one I bought was the reinforced type and appeared to have very little, if any use at all. I drove to Gainesville and bought it from a fellow SS...

    Surplus Tach wiring help

I recently bought one just like Barrman has on Ebay - NOS. When you look at the wiring schematic for the Humvee, there are six (6) terminals on the Hummer tach vs. four (4) for the tach we have. Also, I have been told the Humvee tach has a black indicator needle where mine is red. The lamp...

Tow bar from d rings on M1009

I found the link that provides photos of exactly what you are describing. It was posted in the CUCV area of the forum on 08-25-2008 and was titled "Civy Tow Bars". I will try to provide a link to that page: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/24660-civy-tow-bars-2.html

Tow bar from d rings on M1009

I just bought a medium towbar and hooked it up to my M1008A1 just to see if I could do this myself. It was a struggle because of the weight of the components to say the least but I got it done. Pictures will show the application for the CUCV usig the 1" pin towbar feet.

Tow bar from d rings on M1009

You would be better off using one of those pintle receivers that has the ball built in to use in a class III hitch, that way you could haul your truck with a medium towbar with the pintle ring. If you still want to use a ball for your towbar, someone on here made a towbar out of 2" tubular...

    M998 Hmmwv tach installed.

Just got the tach today and will provide three macro photos of the face, back and the label on the side to show the stock number (I think) of the unit in case anyone wants to buy one like it. I have not been on Ebay lately so I have no idea if the seller has listed any more for sale; he did...

    M998 Hmmwv tach installed.

Thanks for the info 86humv. Once I get the tach I will figure out a way to make it work for my 6.2. There's a pickup tht I must obtain which will provide the pulses the tach uses to gauge engine rpm - I will have to look through TMs for the M35A3. Pretty much everything else will hook up to...

    A3

Stonepicker1, Thank you for the schematics on the tachometer. With the new attachment system in Steel Soldiers (SS) you cannot right-click on the images and save them into your computer for some reason. Is the TM available in the TM section of SS? I did see where there is a sensor pickup that...
