Looks like you're hoggin all the fun, Tom. I can't make it up this week, but next week if the weather looks good, I can make it up for most of one day and part of the next.
I have no idea if this is the way to figure it but, I'm looking at two different manuals. The Rostra one and the CCS-100.
CCS-100: http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/docs/cc100_ins.pdf
Rostra: http://www.rostra.com/manuals/250-1223Form4565G.pdf
When you're setting these things up, the...
When you installed your rostra kit, what did you do about the tachometer input wire? Did you just leave it disconnected or did you figure out a means of sending tach signal to it?
The Rostra kit indicates that tach signal isn't necessary but is a good idea for safety, to keep the engine from...
looking at the manual for the murphskits ccs-100 clone, it appears that it needs a tachometer input in addition to the VSS.
The servo controller has dip switches to program it. SW7 is "Tach source" with the choices being "ECM" or "Coil."
So I'm guessing I'd have to install a tachometer to...
They'll do 85 without much trouble. I got mine to go that fast on I-37 south of San Antonio just to see how the vehicle behaved. Wasn't difficult at all.
Hm. Well I might just have to go with this one, then. The ccs100 kit is 180 dollars total and comes with both the control switch and the speed sensor kit.
Thanks guys, but I don't know if that audiovox/murphskits ccs-100 will work. From their website:
Sounds from that like it uses a vacuum-powered motor rather than an electric one. I'm not sure how that works, either. I think I prefer the all-electric with micro-controller solution.
It...
If the chevy-specific vehicle speed pulse generator is too difficult to fit, they do make a version that is just magnet and hall-effect sensor for generic use.
Everything has been done with an arduino. I'm ashamed for even doubting it.
There's all kinds of cruise controls people have built on little arduino project boards if you do a google search.
I probably wouldn't go that way as I'm more interested in the results than tinkering but I guess it's...
I was thinking of installing this kit

The rostra 250-1223 on my M1009
Judging from the details on that page, it looks like I also need a:

Put a piece of garden hose or pex around the little cylinder the door latches to. I think they're supposed to have a piece of hard plastic there but they're always MIA.
I put garden hose on my 1009, and the doors latch fully closed with less force than on my 2004 silverado pickup.
FYI, my 923a2 wouldn't start a few weeks ago. Keithj happened to be down and he diagnosed it. It was corroded contacts on the load (not coil) portion of the ignition relay inside that PCB, IIRC. We were able to start the truck by shorting around the contacts with an insulated wire. I...
The ammo cans look nice but I don't think that's a mod I would do. I've been doing the Refurb/Blem interstate series 31 for $45 and I doubt those would fit in a fat 50 ammo can.
Do you have some kind of spacer between the lid and top of the battery to help hold the battery down? To keep it...
Those of you who have used POR-15 as an undercarriage coating/rust preventative on your cucv, how well has it lasted over the course of a few years?
I'm considering using POR-15 to undercoat my M1009. Primarily for rust prevention rather than noise abatement.
One thing that concerns me a bit...
Does anyone have actual pictures of where the grease zerks are supposed to be?
I cannot for the life of me find all of the fittings shown in the lube order.
