Cracked block with a starter goes

Well, if it breaks you can always have it welded then. Might not be worth trying to fix a problem that may never happen. Unless this is your only wheels and you need it to be super reliable.

Are the M1009 differential covers special military parts?

Your choices were $16.25 to $30. With $30 being USPS. I spent less than 10 minutes unbolting my cover again, weighing it, and entering the info on USPS to discover it could be sent priority in a flat rate regional A side loading box for $8.98. Insured. So please, if you would like to...

Ah, good info. I've never owned a vehicle with old school otto engine tech. My first car was a 95? aerostar hand-me-down.

M1009 rolling up on 100,000 miles... any sugestions for keeping it rolling?

CDR valve is probably pushing the GM recommended replacement schedule. New manufacture ones are available on ebay and other places.

Do you really want to air your dirty laundry in public? I find it personally distasteful and undapper.

color of cucv dash and doors

Linx310 did a fantastic 1009 restoration. IIRC, he dyed door panels and dash with SEM vinyl dye. Black. And used canvas seat covers from Jatonka, IIRC. Or it might have been New Life.

Yep, I've met Barrman and his kid at several shows. Will have to pick his brain for sure. Don't think I've met Kwai. Nice truck 67beast. Mkcoen is going to help me pick it up next Tuesday so I'll have some detailed pics then.

Really frustrated. .M1010 and questionable work

lol, yep. This is one of those Click and Clack call in stories. "If your mechanic is whistling a nautical tune when you meet him, RUN the other way!" Gotta make those boat payments.

Stuck spring in the IP? I wonder if they meant stuck fuel shutoff solenoid.

So if the mechanical fuel pump is bad, this might actually be a vehicle that would benefit from an electric fuel pump? Something that pushed the fuel to the carb at a little higher pressure to mitigate the vapor lock problem?

Not on me. They're on my friend's phone and he's kind of tech-challenged. Might get them tomorrow if his wife has a moment to email them to me. The upholstery in the cab is toast. No top, so it's probably been rained on and baked for the past 20 years.

Are the M1009 differential covers special military parts?

Hm, I kinda don't think so. Under compatibility, it lists S10s and Tahoes.

I saw some pictures and a friend vouched for me that it ran within the past 2 years (they think it has fuel pump issues, no fuel to carb). I won't say what I'm paying for it, but it is cheap. Looks like it has some hunting seats installed in the bed and basket or something installed/fabbed...

    MEP002A Priming

I have a notion. Take a picture of the canister part with the remains of the bolt in it. I'm thinking we machine a piece of wood cylinder to fit into the housing to keep from crushing it, then chuck it up on the lathe and machine out the remains of the bolt that is inside the canister. If...

    MEP002A Priming

If you just need the bolts, we can make them on my lathe, no problem. Shoot, if it's something enough people needed, might could even invest in a tap to do the interior threads. Then it might be as simple as buying hardware store bolts, center drilling on the lathe, then running the tap down...

    Vacuum Regulator Valve

The rubber hose on mine connecting the steel line to the valve had completely rotted. Line was disconnected. I hooked it back up with a new hose piece and it works great. Truck has 92k miles on it.
