Well that was fun.
Hopefully I've earned brownie points towards help in recovering a Higgins boat out of San Diego or something. At least, I can't think of much else that's likely to top a 2500 mile recovery.
Waffle House.
Thanks, I tried tracing the only line coming off the carburator. It goes over to the passenger side of the engine, down the engine block, and back somewhere. Need to get under there to get a better idea of where it is going. That might lead me to the electric fuel pump.
eta: In fact, in that...
Sorry, it takes me awhile to upload photos to my imgur account. I've tried several times to get them to upload from there but it just doesn't want to work.
Here's pictures of the cover plate over what I think is the fuel pump spot.
Also pics of the distributor. I don't have a frame of reference, so I don't know if that distributor is stock or not.
Thanks, but I haven't been able to find that either.
I tried autozone, oreilleys, advance, carquest, napa, and rock auto.
Search terms and parts number searches for "6510" "AC6510" "AC 6510" "6510 fuel pump"
Looking at some threads online at places like IFSJA, it looks like some people were...
Yeah, I think there's an aftermarket MC on the firewall behind the carb. With a wire latch on the cover.
Individual wheel cylinders I'll take off and see if they can't be rehoned and rebuilt with new springs and rubber.
Trust me, I am not a hot-rodder. I believe in making vehicles last as long as they can.
Dang, I'm having a hard time finding a fuel pump. Only ones I've found in stock are at some milsurp places, and they want 225. And the original for core.
I know alot of people are going to cringe, but I...
Dang. I wonder if at this point I shouldn't just go ahead and re-engine the vehicle.
I haven't priced Tornado 230 parts, but I'll bet they aren't cheap.

Not that this has anything to do with the M715, but why is this an issue? The only thing I could find in that novel-length list of rules about photos and linking was not to link to auction site photos.

I'm not sure what all those disconnected lines are...
Cool, I've still got the engine, transmission, and transfer case from a deuce I parted out ages ago.
This is the reward for being a pack rat. Eventually, everything becomes useful. If only you can find it in the piles of junk.
Definitely check the line down at the vacuum regulator on the side of the transmission oil pan.
I'm told that drastically affects shifting.
Mine was disconnected from the rubber hose connection being completely rotted.
