Getting one from cucvrus
I could probably get one cheaper from a parts store... but I don't trust the parts stores to get this right, at this point. And I just want to get it back together as soon as possible.
This way I KNOW it's the right part.
Maybe? Still don't know whose computer system to trust.
I was going to order the dorman 697-700 through oreilley's but it's a "Special order" part, and would take 7 to 10 working days to get here.
Honestly, I'm thinking at this point I'll just put the damaged original back on and RTV the...
Weird. Oreilley's system shows it differently than the actual Dorman website. Oreilley's system says the 700 is good for the K5 and the 701 as good for the s10.
Second option down from the first link DH just posted is the dorm 697-700, and it shows as suitable for a K5 as well. Very weird.
What they sold me previously was a dorman 697-701
Went by the store again and the closest they could find was a dorman 697-700. Shows as working with K5 blazers, k30 suburbans, etc...
The GM part number doghead provided didn't come up in their system at all.
Has anyone here tried a dorman...

Rear. Fork slipped when we were loading it onto the trailer at the GSA yard.
Maybe he gave me a replacement for the front. Thanks, that'll be something to compare.
Maybe. I'm afraid to try, because the only way to secure it to hammer it back out is against the flange. More likely to bend other parts of the flange than to fix the little piece that's keeping it from sealing.
Going to take it back to OR's with me and see if we can find the correct...
Just went to replace my rear differential cover and the holes do not line up with the replacement I got at Oreilly's.
I told the clerk it was for a diesel 4WD 85 blazer.
Did the military 1009s use a different axle housing from the civilian blazers?
The replacement is a 10 bolt cover... the...
If you look around, a few people have repaired their glow plug control cards. According to them, it's only 3 components that cause 90% of the failures.
Wow, ya'll actually have cops help direct traffic? Nice.
I always grit my teeth every time we do a convoy in San Antonio or Temple. The other traffic is NOT forgiving of our slow speeds.
