Anyone experienced this problem. M936A2 CTIS had been working perfectly. After restart after a 60 mile and on the recovery mission of my M998 the system decided it wanted to dump all tires down to who knows what. All tires went down to about 20 PSI before I could disconnect the canon plug...
Medium towbar 3/4" pin attached to my M998. Also fits the M37/M43 and others. Also shown is the dual 3/4" and 1" towbar end used on the heavy towbar. Note the thicker towbar end and the much bigger attachment pin.

As stated lift with the shackles tow bar with 3/4" feet attache to lower hole on shackle mount. Made up a light bar for the back of the vehicle so I had all required lights and used safety chains.
Added rear clearance lights to. the M998. Piece of angle aluminum drilled with a hole saw, three military clearance lights, some flat black paint. Here is the installation. Pintle hook opens fine. Can easily be seen from five and back. Used a "Y" tap on the left tail light harness for power.
Lawdog I agree on the length. Its a start At least I have the mounting brackets installed. I am going to look for 24 to 30 inch length flaps (will measure from the ground) to get something in the range you stated. Figured I would get something on there for now.
I use a 2 inch spring the diameter of the plug terminal. Slip into plug socket and over plug wire spring and my clip on induction light picks up the firing signal easily.
Installed mudflaps on the M998. Used one NAPA 24 by 18 plain black truck mudflap cut in half and a $5 dollar pre-drilled strip of angle steel mounted to the two bolts securing the light guards protecting the rear light wiring connectors. Very easy install. Did have to round off the square...

This thread shows the rack on the vehicle. Strap routing wrong in these pictures. Went back to the TM to get correct routing. Picture to follow. Shovel is definitely shorter than the one on the full framed rack.

M988 owners take note. Jacked up the right rear to change a worn tire on my 1985 M998 won back in February. Once the tire was off the ground I noticed quite a bit of side to side movement of the wheel assembly. Crawled underneath and found the reason. The tie rod end assembly was loose in...
For all of you who are curious how the pioneer racks mounts up under a HMMWV here is what it looks like. Just received and installed a brand new pioneer rack on the M998. After the tools are secured to the rack it takes less than 30 seconds to mount and secure it. Highly recommend adding some...
